I recently stayed at Sea Gypsy and had a very disappointing experience. Upon checking into our room, we found numerous cleanliness issues: rice on the floor, dust on the console, sand scattered around, and what appeared to be either blood or ketchup on the furniture. The room had a strong moldy or smoky smell, and the shower was moldy.
These conditions were especially concerning as we have a medically fragile baby with multiple allergies and on oxygen. The health risks posed by the unclean environment and the unpleasant odor were unacceptable, forcing us to vacate the room shortly after checking in.
After reading other reviews, we found concerns about bed bug infestations. We were particularly alarmed as the sheets didn’t look like they had been cleaned. Despite being told the property was recently renovated, it didn’t appear to be.
We brought these issues to the attention of the hotel management and provided photographic evidence. While they acknowledged some sand on the floor, they refused to offer a full refund, only returning the cleaning fee.
This situation disrupted our family vacation, as I had to spend considerable time addressing these concerns and finding alternative accommodations. Overall, our experience at Sea Gypsy was very disappointing, and we cannot recommend this hotel to others. If I could, I would give this property a zero-star rating.
