I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times before, and I genuinely hoped this time would be different. However, it wasn’t. My last stay was in November 2024, and Los Angeles was freezing. The room I was assigned had a broken heater. They brought in a portable heater, but I requested to be moved. I was moved twice, and I had to move all my luggage twice, ending up in a third and final room.
This time, the situation was no different, except that LA County was experiencing a heat wave. I was moved twice because the air conditioning didn’t work. I had to walk from my second-floor room to get the keys and move myself and all my belongings twice. I decided to stay in the second room because we had walked another room, and the air conditioning ran for less than 60 seconds.
A manager did find a room where the air conditioning allegedly worked, but my baby and I were going down for a nap after a long day in traffic. I had to demand that the manager and maintenance person check the room before and ensure the air conditioning worked. Before that, I had to do it myself. I paid to be put to work, all while being uncomfortable!
