The hotel was beautiful. You are truly staying at a museum. Wonderful to explore. The staff is helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious for being a cruise ship cabin. Storage galore. Unique lighting. The walls are thin but we did not find that to be a problem. Convenient parking but you pay extra.
Marvelous historic stay. Room was larger than we expected (though bed was extra firm), and we enjoyed the 2 portholes that opened for fresh air and views! Highly recommend. We spent 4 hours walking through areas of the ship, from seeing the propeller underwater to the bridge and captain's quarters to the posh entertainment areas. Reading the history was walking through our past. Queen Mary being painted for stealth as the Grey Ghost during the war was especially fascinating. We ate the Promenade Cafe and it was excellent - the best flourless chocolate cake ever.
Staying on Queen Mary is a unique experience - a step back in time aboard one of the the glories of the transatlantic steamship era. The staff is absolutely incredible, every member we interacted with went out of their way to help, and seemed to take pride in the grand old ship they represented. Our stay turned into a family memory that will stsy with us a lifetime!
She is a 91 year old ship that also went through WWII so I was expecting her to be rough around the edges but she was in better condition than i expected.
