If you are going to Mackinaw City, you really should stay on the beach. The Hamilton Inn was affordable, clean and best of all, right on the beach. There was also an indoor pool in case of bad weather, but we did not use it. Breakfast of scrambled eggs and waffles was available. It was hot and delicious. I did wish there were amenities like a lounge or restaurant, but there were lounges within a 3 block radius that were walkable, even for us senior citizens.

It looked run down. The staff were friendly and fast. I didn't like that you cant bring your breakfast to your room. My son struggles with too much noises and couldn't eat there.

Would not return

The room was dirty. The tub was dirty. The jetted tub was lined with sand after draining it. We were not on the beach. This came from the jets themselves. Upon a closer look they were dirty. When we mentioned it to the front desk they claimed "the lines are flushed and that is the result". That did not remove any concerns. The bathroom sink didn't drain properly. The screen on the sliding door was taped at the top and the tape was hanging half off. The pool was dirty and the hot tub was filthy. You could not even see the bottom. There was peeling stripping all around the top of the hot tub. It looked too disgusting to enter. The room came with free waterpark passes at a local hotel. It has a couple of waterside and a lazy river. Both slides were closed and boarded up and the plunge pool empty. The lazy river barely moved. We stayed less than 10 minutes. For the price we paid I expected better. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
