We really wanted to like it
Well we like the location, But it really need's a lot to make this comfortable, First I would say you are in the mountains, there is no other town or services nearby other than the small convenience store, due to our early season ,I guess, it was very empty compare to my multiple previous visit, there is a few campsite near that we enjoy on occasions, There was no curtain in the kitchen/ living room/ hall ways that leads to bedroom, and they have build a bunch cabins like a street so neighbors that sit outside there cabins to enjoy the evenings and their kids riding their bikes by can see everything inside your unit, In the morning you have breakfast with the sunlight right in your face, and diner too as the location of the table is place you have no choice really, I understand it's a cabin in the middle of nowhere but it was dusty and many spider webs, we also had trouble with the fireplace to discover the breaker was turned off , there was a very noisy fan running 24/7 that stopped when the breaker was turned back on, We enjoy the location and the pool ,very nice pool salt pool which I prefer over any other, fairly clean spa a little dirty but acceptable, As we visit in early season the road that lead to the viewpoint was closed and blocked with strange mention of private road, when we were told by the hotel manager that it is not a private road, I have been there many times on Motorcycle, car and truck too, not sure what is going on there but it was sad.

Very dirty. Lack of maintenance and management. We booked for the 3 nights, but only stayed for 2 nights. We stayed at standard cabin, very dirty, broken window was fixed with tape, floor is stinky, pillow has large stains, the most reason we decided to check out early is the smell in the cabin. Even my 4 year old son can't stop complaining the smell in it, very hard to explain the smell, smells like heavy cooking or dead animal. I won't recommend the standard cabin.

The staff was courteous and friendly, but the beds were lumpy, and thin blankets, pillows were either lumpy or under stuffed. The hot tubs were only like warm, the pool was cold, the pool deck was extremely slippery making it unsafe. The games room most of the games were damaged, or missing parts, and were unplayable. The food at the resteraunt was overpriced and bland, but had good sized portions, and they did not have an option for early morning breakfast, for those leaving before 8:00 AM.

This is an older resort with a lot of usage and therefore showing it but it's a good place to stay and not unreasonable prices at this time of year.

Manning Park Lodge is an older building, no air conditioning. Large rooms , very clean, noticed our coffee maker was broken when we got to our room. It was replaced within 10 minutes after advising staff. It is a beautiful location, friendly staff . The buildings and area are well kept and we will be making a return trip.

The rooms have absolutely no sound proofing. We heard the drunks next to us vomiting all night and arguing at 6am. The counter by the sink was not wiped, the bathroom had hairs left on sink, floors and tub. The floors were dirty. The room was large and the bedding was clean. It was fine for our short stopover. If you’re an early riser you won’t be able to get coffee or breakfast as nothing opens until 8am. We stuck around to get a coffee from the grumpy clerk in the store who didn't even direct us where to get our cups or anything. Just took our money and walked away. We wouldn’t choose to stay here again, we’d probably just keep driving to Hope if going west or Princeton if going east.

First time staying here, the main lodge has retained its beauty, rooms were okay, pool was nice but once you start looking around, there were quite a few major repairs required from wood ratting around the windows, chips in the tile in the pool area, chalets had some roofs damaged from the winter, possibly. Picnic tables needed staining and outside of chalets could use a fresh coat of paint as well. The amount of dead trees in the park itself, is quite upsetting to me. I was here 30 yrs back and all the surrounding mountains were lush and green. Not so anymore.. lots of dead trees on every Mountain yoy can see within the park boundaries. lots of fallen deadwood on the ground too! With recent wildfires in Jasper National Park this year, I can see this exact thing happening in Manning Park.. literally! I’ve lived in BC my entire life and have not come across a region that looks as bad as this park. I can only wonder what E.C. Manning would think of how BC has destroyed his beautiful park. We dinned at the restaurant across I’ve main lodge, food was good, nothing special and service was good to begin with, but sparse when we were finished eating. The staff we talked with were friendly & knowledgeable including the park person at the information centre. I had a beautiful swim at Lightning Lk this morning after we checked out. I would like to return to Manning Park to explore the area more as there is plenty to do here! Just hoping someone gets on the fire remidigation asap
