Welcome to Nauti & Nice @ Norris!
The property is located in Dodson Creek cove, right off of the main channel, near the Hwy 33 bridge, just minutes from Beach Island Marina and Bubba Brew's sports bar and grill by land or water, and under ten miles from Maynardville’s grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants.
The cabin comfortably lives 18 family/friends. The outdoors is mostly wooded with a fabulous view and easy access to the lake! There is a small lawn with seating around a fire pit, and a spacious dock for reading, sunning, and splashing; the dock has a ladder allowing easy access for swimming.
Let’s start upstairs of this 3 floored cabin. The upper level has a fun game nook with several board games, puzzles, card games, and some toys for little ones. This nook has a 6-person table allowing for week-long puzzles to be put together or long board games to remain setup without getting in the way of meals! There are 2 bedrooms on this level, each with a queen-sized bed and a cozy loft area overlooking the great room. The loft has a comfortable futon which sleeps 2 and storage space for guests to easily transform the conversation space into a bedroom. The upstairs bathroom is set up with towels for 6.
The main floor has a spacious and comfortable primary bedroom suite with towels for 2, kitchen, dining spaces, living room with smart TV/DVD player, and a three season’s screened-in porch with a conversation circle overlooking the cove and picnic table on the other side. A propane grill is on a small deck just outside of the screened in porch. The main gathering area is an open floor plan with a high vaulted ceiling. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, mixing bowls, casserole dishes, serving bowls/platters, roasting pan, baking necessities, and storage containers for leftovers. There is a can opener, wine bottle opener, and dish detergent. Appliances include blender, griddle, toaster, coffeemaker, waffle irons, small crock-pot, microwave, full size stove/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator – there is a second refrigerator downstairs as well, right off the game room.
Downstairs sleeps 10: There are two bedrooms, one with a queen and a child's bed (sleeps 3) and another has a full, and a twin over full bunk bed (sleeps 5). There is a queen-sized pullout sofa in the computer/TV space (sleeps 2). And the large bathroom has towels and space for 10.
There is a nice game room with a ping-pong table, air hockey table, and foosball. The paddles, balls, and handles needed are stocked waiting for you bring the fun! This L-shaped room also has a computer with internet access, connected to a TV (as a 2nd monitor). Please note: while we are not able to offer internet throughout the property, the Verizon signal is very strong; service of other carriers may not be able to reliably connect.
There is a snack area, washer/dryer, and door to a small outside patio with a great view of the cove / dock. Off this patio you will find a unique outside changing room / shower – it’s just fun to shower outside in this totally private, spacious outdoor shower!
While we’re outside, let’s go down to the dock. The path to the dock starts with a staircase that leads to a winding, well-cleared path. While the distance isn’t far, you might draw straws to determine who has to carry the cooler and laugh about being winded every time you come up (it is not wheelchair or stroller accessible). The dock has plenty of space to lounge and during summer months the water is normally ~45’ deep making for a nice swimming area. The dock has cleats on the south and north sides, allowing for any size boat to tie up, as well as a covered slip deep enough for 26’ boat. There are large hooks where you can store a kayak or paddle boards on the dock as well. At night, lights will automatically illuminate the path back to the cabin.
When you arrive, we recommend you drop off your boat at Beach Island Marina before going to the cabin. The boat ride is an easy loop around an island, under the bridge, and turn right into the first cove. The Nauti & Nice dock is right by the first orange buoy in the Dodson Creek cove and will have blue led lights that come on after dark. The driveway is long an connects to the road in two places with plenty of room for multiple cars, trucks, and trailers.
