Our first night there, no one was there to check us in. Then the room was right above a stage where a singer and a full audience was having a good time sitting around fires and drinking and from the window we could see and hear all the kids running around on the play area. And the room was above the bar. So the room was noisy until very late and then there were ATV tours that started first thing in the morning. This was in addition to the fact that to get to the “lodge” you had to drive on a dirt road for 5.5 miles. The property (and Expedia) advertised the property was only 28 miles from Ouray, Colorado. The property was actually 70 miles from Ouray. Due to the dirt road and extended driving, it took us over one and half hours of driving to get to Ouray. We checked out 2 days early because of the location and the noise. The property would not refund the 2 nights and Expedia is giving us the run around about a refund. I could not recommend this location at all.

Great property atop a mountain with a wonderful restaurant and bar and great outdoor space. The bed and pillows in our king suite were extremely comfortable and provided for a very quiet and restful night’s sleep. Fortunate for us, our one night stay turned into two nights thanks to a snowstorm blowing in overnight. We couldn’t ask for a cozier place to be snowed in.

Secluded and beautiful lodge nestled at about 10k feet. The rooms are cozy and all have fireplaces that are gas fired, hairdryers, toiletries, and coffee makers. The restaurant has really good choices, especially deliscious is the pork green chili. Many outdoor activities exist outside the lodge doors; including hiking, fishing, xc skiing, snowmobiling, and atv'ng.

It’s a mountain lodge . So, it will require 5 miles on the dirt road to get up there ! No cell signal ! Has WiFi ! Breakfast was great ! All is good !

Unique mountain getaway

Very unique stay in the mountains! We had a great stay here, the rooms are themed and comfortable, there is a restaurant with bar open for lunch and dinner, a very nice lodge public area with chairs, couches, books, magazines, and board games. There is a 5.5 mile drive up a gravel/dirt road to get there, but it is worth it! Stayed here to visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison Nationsl Park. There is nothing else around for at least an hour drive so plan accordingly.
