Lovely visit for our dog's first birthday!

Our dog was warmly welcomed. We especially enjoyed the breakfast with a delightful and attentive waitress. There are more dog friendly and inviting restaurants, unbelievably free and numerous parking space in Morro Bay. The dog beach is extensive and cleaned close to the Inn.

The Lobby/dining area had a beutiful view of the bay. Was a last minute decision to travel that area so without doing much research it was ok. Room was very tiny.

Great staff beautiful rooms

It was a very lovely stay from the beginning it was my husbands birthday so I requested cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries to be delivered before we arrived. Kevin at the front desk was super helpful to talk to and easy to work with. We arrived earlier than expected and it only took about 15 minutes to get everything requested to the room. (This was my fault and they did an amazing job accommodating) the room was gorgeous the bed was very comfortable and the balcony and view was truly worth the price. The only thing was in the bathroom you could see where they had to do a patch on the wall. This was no issue for me though just something we noticed. The bird sanctuary next door was nice because we got to hear lots of chirping birds in the morning however that could be annoying for some. Overall would 100% stay again.

Be aware! Bay view room does NOT mean you view the bay. It means you view a parking lot, then another building the entire way along and you sort of see a bit of water and barrier island and the top 4’ of sailboat masts poking up. The property says that’s “partial bay view” but on Expedia it lists as “Bay” view which is IMO misleading. They blamed Expedia but admitted to me that they probably sent the description to them in the first place. It should say “parking lot and backside of building view toward the direction of the bay”.

When we arrived, we unloaded everything and I went to the restroom only to find there was no toilet paper anywhere in the room. We decided to eat at the restaurant there. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is pretty small and hostess sat us across from the bar. Someone, who appeared to be an employee off duty, was visiting VERY loudly (drunk)with a friend at the bar. So loudly I had to raise my voice to an uncomfortable level for my husband to hear me. We were told Dawn will be right with us. In the meantime, we watched the bartender, the off duty employee, and her friend visit, FaceTime someone, take pictures and basically goof off. We kept watch for our waitress and watched the bartender run a few drinks and visit with her friends. After at least 15 minutes with no one taking a drink order, food order, or acknowledging us, we decided to leave. As we are walking out, the bartender runs to the counter and says, oh I was just coming to your table. If I'd known that she was the one who was supposed to wait on us, I would have left sooner. She could have asked us from the bar if we would like a drink. It seems they have changed owners since we stayed there before. The bed was comfy but the room was very small. I don't know if it's because we got a pet room, but the floor was filthy. I had to clean my feet before going to bed and use hand towels to mop over the floor. We won't be back.
The door where the fridge is wouldn't close and there's no microwave.

The property could use a little updating- especially the hot tub, but we loved the location and view and easy walk to the museum! Nice to have a restaurant there too. Fish and chips were fantastic!

Rooms were in need of updating the shower handle didn’t work and we had to have maintenance come just to get the water shut off. The screen door to the patio didn’t shut all the way, walls in the bathroom seemed to have mold spots. It just seemed run down and needs a refurbishing.

Upgrades and improvements needed.

The setting of the hotel is lovely - peaceful and relaxing. However, our bed was old, I guess, because for both of us we felt we were going to roll off the side. The pillows were also awful. The sink in our bathroom as well as the toilet were both lose from their fittings. For $400 per night, you’d think you would get a nicer mattress and decent pillows to sleep on and secured bathroom fixtures. In addition, we had a very disruptive couple in the room next to us - loud, argumentative and smoking pot morning and night. Because the only way to cool the room is to open the sliding glass door to our balcony, and they had theirs open as well, we could hear her coughing and speaking loudly and rudely to her partner and to her dog. and we don’t smoke pot so that was not a welcome “extra” for us. We realize there isn’t much you can do about rude guests but please upgrade the sleeping and bathroom issues - we paid less than that to stay two nights in a 4-star hotel in San Francisco with a bay view and were really disappointed by the Inn at Morro Bay.
