I'm used to staying at bargain hotels when I'm traveling solo. I don't need much, and don't need to impress anyone - I look for a comfortable and safe place to leave my stuff and sleep. I visited in the midst of the 2024 heat wave - and this hotel has no air conditioning - which was completely unexpected for me. To make matters worse, there was no reliable internet access on the 7th floor, and the staff didn't make any effort to resolve my issue - which I sort of understand because they aren't tech support - but I'm an ex-Googler and know my way around these things... the WiFi is unacceptable here on the 7th floor. They need to fix it with an additional access point. So i paid for this with cellphone tethering for a whole week. Also, the pillows are ridiculously bad here. I know that seems like a crazy thing to complain about - but, really, it was like they put a bunch of cotton balls into a garbage bag and called it a pillow. I've traveled continuously for over a year and stayed in iraq for six months (across a couple trips) and I have never in my life encountered worse pillows in a hotel LOL
TLDR; pay a little bit more and stay somewhere comfortable with air conditioning and internet. The proximity to the train station is great, but there are plenty of other hotels that offer better deals in terms of the basics, and are just as close to the train station.
