Website advertising early check was not helpful nor accurate. I invested a significant amount of time to try and register through the Melia website. There was clearly no benefit. In fact, the experience at Melia Barajas was disappointing - pick-up took longer than expected (language issues with guests), and competing with other guests at a very late hour. Then, when I asked for return to the airport, the front desk said I would have to take a taxi, since the reservation slots were already filled for my preferred time. The whole point of staying at the Melia Barajas was the proximity and free shuttle to the airport!

I was visting Madrid for El Classico with my two kids at father-in-law. Wanted somewhere near the airport as it was a 23 hour visit. Hotel was nice and a special mention for Alex who checked us in at reception and really looked after us. Personal and professional.

There were boisterous teens hanging out at the McDonalds and throwing stuff to the hotel's property. No security on site unfortunately. The front desk staff were helpful when I needed things printed or even to get a curitas.
