The Wayfinder and its staff was amazing! The hotel was decorated well with attention to detail. Their staff was very helpful and friendly. The coffee bar was great! Hotel was in great proximity to the base, downtown and other stores. 5 out of 5

I will never come back. It is a shame because the hotel has been renovated and it is beautiful. There is no noise insulation between the rooms and floors. Other guests were slamming doors all night. This is not their fault as the doors are heavy and have no hydraulics. The guests above me sounded like elephants at 5 in the morning. It went on for 45 minutes. When I called the front desk to complain, the phone just rang and rang. Then I tried to turn on the A/c wall unit fan to drown out some of the noise and the unit would not turn on. It doesn't matter how clean and cute a hotel is if you don't get any sleep. When I explained my evening to the check out woman, she apologized but offered no compensation. I will not be returning to this hotel.

There were numerous stains on the carpets both in the hallways and room. Out toilet didn't flush properly, body wash in shower was empty, very noisy and walls were in need of repair. Nice to get tokens for a glass of wine but overall, very disappointing

Overpriced and Underwhelming: Disappointing Stay
I recently stayed at the Wayfinder Newport with a large group, and unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations or justify the high cost. While it’s clear they’ve done some renovations, the property still has the feel of an old, worn-down motel, and the updates seem only partial. Our group was split between rooms, with some in renovated spaces and others in outdated, musty rooms with old, dirty carpets. The rooms lack basic amenities like drawers or closets – a setup that might work for a quick stay, but for longer visits, the “Moxy-style” approach of keeping everything in your suitcase just doesn’t cut it. WiFi didn’t work any of the nights, and our AC broke down, which made it uncomfortable, especially since there was no phone in the room to call for assistance. We had to use our cell phones to contact the front desk, which, in fairness, was helpful, but it still added to the frustration. Overall, this property feels overpriced for what it offers, and I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s simply not worth it, especially if you’re planning an extended stay.

From what a few of our Uber drivers told us, the hotel had a fire a few years ago and was recently reopened. The hotel is very nice and reasonably priced. It is not too far from downtown Newport, but it is a little far to walk. The staff was friendly. I would stay here again.

Newport stay
Firstly, my travel partner was sick with COVID and could not make it. I found this out early Sunday morning with only a few hours before check in. Although I knew it was a long shot I did call your hotel to see if it was possible to cancel or reschedule the reservation. I was told it was too late to do so; therefore, I decided to come on my own. Upon arrival at 4pm sharp I was told my room would not be ready for a while and asked if I could come back later. I found this a little irritating since only a few hours earlier I was told it was too late to cancel, but I should just be ok with having to check into my room late? I came back around 6pm and was able to check in. Secondly, upon arriving at my room I started to relax and turn on the television. However, every channel was snowy and the sound was altered. I went through each channel and found that it was all of them. I was only staying overnight so I did not bring a laptop or computer so I was stuck without television for the remainder of the night. I called the front desk and was told it was every TV, not just my room otherwise I would have asked to change rooms. Lastly, and the bulk of my problem was what was in the fridge. I opened the refrigerator to put in my water and there was a plastic bag with 2 filled syringes. Both needles were filled with liquid and unlabeled. I had assumed someone left their medication behind, but for the staff not to find it while cleaning the room is unacceptable.

We booked this place a few months ago in advance of my partner running the Newport Marathon. Parking was easy, and clan easy drive downtown. We had one of the two bedroom suites which was clean, recently remodeled, and cute. The bathroom shower wasn’t super clean, pressure was lacking, and the faucet handles for the sink were coming apart. Our TV also wasn’t working when we arrived due to the remote not being paired, but the front desk was able to fix it. The exercise room needs to be cleaned and the equipment was dusty. Lastly, we were disappointed that after being given drink tokens upon check-in, that we couldn’t even use them because the restaurant was closed Sunday AND Monday, and we were not notified when checking in. There were other groups asking the front desk the same question, and not notified. Seems like a missed opportunity for the restaurant not to be open on a busy holiday weekend, and with a hotel full of tourists there for the marathon.

We were checking in at 2 am and were greeted by a mouse at the front door. Our room was on a third floor with no elevator. The hallway rugs have gross stains and are frayed. Noise in hallway all night. TV doesn’t work. Otherwise great.

Really nice room with a really comfy bed, and the staff were very friendly helpful. My problem is the how loud the rooms are - dont expect to get much sleep which is sad because the beds are so comfy. Our room was on the ground floor, the person in the room above above us was walking about constantly (no exaggeration it sounded like an elephant was up there) until midnight and then started doing it again at 5 am - this may seem like a silly thing to complain about but it was so loud that we couldnt sleep.

Extreme noise travelling between the floors, all doors shut with a loud bang ,noise is hammering on your head, when people are walking upstairs,hot water is only warm! Phone didn't work had to walk to the lobby numerous times for verious problems.Its a shame because the location and the room was very nice!
