With so many places to go and things to keep you on the go, it's not difficult to see why 8,200,000 people have made this impressive city home. NoMad is located 1 kilometre south of the city's heart. If you're coming in via LaGuardia Airport, you'll need to collect your bags, flag down a taxi and make your way 10 kilometres west.

This city has no shortage of awesome things to do, and many of them can be found near NoMad. It's difficult to choose the top attractions, but the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building are two you can't miss. Don't forget to put Ellis Island and Brooklyn Bridge on your list as well. While you're in town, think about exploring a few other neighbourhoods to see more of what New York has to offer. Flatiron District and Koreatown are great suggestions that are nearby.

One of the best reasons to stay in NoMad is that Rockefeller Plaza is located just 2 kilometres to the north. This leading attraction never fails to amaze and inspire.

You'll never fall short of things to do in the heart of New York. Macy's and the Columbia University will keep you occupied for hours. It'd be a shame to head back to your hotel without stopping at Radio City Music Hall and the New York University as well.

Let your hair down at the National Arts Club, the Brooklyn Brewery, the Gotham Comedy Club and the City Winery. They're excellent stops for those travelling without children.

The area's cultural sites, such as the Lincoln Center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the David Geffen Hall and the NBC Studios, have to be seen!

If you possess a passion for the arts, plan a visit to the Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New Museum. Wander around and if one of the pieces sparks your interest, chat to the staff about its background.

If you get stuck with nasty weather, head over for some indoor fun at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, Hayden Planetarium and the National Museum of the American Indian. The eclectic displays will be sure to keep your imagination buzzing and your clothes dry!

Nothing beats the buzz of excitement when a live performance is due to kick off. Take your seat and watch the curtains go up at the Ed Sullivan Theater, Carnegie Hall, the Beacon Theater and the Gershwin Theater.

Sometimes kids can have fun in rather unexpected locations. Go on an adventure with them to the New York Public Library, the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the Jersey City Public Library and the Children's Museum of Manhattan.

Mary Benson Park, Meluso Park, Metropolitan Recreation Center and Tony Dapolito Recreation Center are some awesome places to take the children for an action-packed day of adventure.

Turn off your phone, disengage from the strains of modern life and savour the beauty of nature at Governors Island, Socrates Sculpture Park, the Conservatory Garden and the Le Petit Versailles.

A delightful feature of this place is its nearby green spaces. Amid all the action, you won't struggle to find a place to take a short walk or read a book. Central Park, Battery Park, Bryant Park and Madison Square are great options.

There's nothing quite like indulging in some shopping. Go on, splurge at Barney's, Chelsea Market, Tiffany & Co. and Newport Mall.

You never know what you'll find at the Chrysler Building, Grand Central Terminal, the One World Trade Center and New York Stock Exchange. These time-weathered places have plenty of tales to share.

Spiritual sites such as St. Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity Church, the Eldridge Street Synagogue and St. Paul's Chapel can provide you with a better understanding of the region's faith. Relax in the calm atmosphere and take a moment to contemplate.

Whether you cheer on a particular team or just want to feel the buzzing atmosphere, don't miss the chance to attend a game at Barclays Center Brooklyn. Don't be afraid to participate in any Mexican waves, chants or songs that happen while you're there, especially if hometown heroes the Brooklyn Nets or the New York Islanders are playing!
