We got there at 4:15 I checked in online. They couldn’t find my name, then said our room wasn’t ready. So we waited another 15-20 minutes for them to put towels in our room. Then we got charged another $75 when I said I already paid online I was told it was another fee. The pool was closed because of a wedding. And the bar and restaurant area had another wedding or reception. So we weren’t able to enjoy any of that. Then around midnight we were woke up a couple times by people being loud in the hallways. You can hear everything outside the rooms. The room was ok, the view was nice.

Nice Spot but Way Understaffed
A physically nice hotel in a nice location on the beach - but honestly, chronically understaffed. Lots of public areas, like the cool bar area, sit unmanned, and when there is someone there, it can take an hour to get a drink. Similar things for most amenities. Folks are generally nice and try to be helpful, but I don't think they understand how much service is required for a hotel operation.

Only option to stay right on the boardwalk in Long Beach. For the price, Allegria is okay. We had a discounted price (only way we could afford to stay) since it was off season and they were renovating/painting outside of building (which was not an issue and did not affect our stay). Nothing the hotel could do about this, but we had an interior room with window facing across the other side of the building and there were so many pigeons and pigeon droppings on the outside of our window. It was gross so we just kept the curtains closed. Our toilet ran all night the first night, but the next day we asked for it to be fixed while we were out and they promptly fixed it. Restaurant is nice with nice view of ocean but service was poor. We waited an entire hour to get our breakfast. Had to flag our server down to get her attention. All this being said, Allegria is located right on the boardwalk of Long Beach. Just a few blocks from the Long Island Railroad into NYC. Cannot beat the location. The front desk staff was great. I guess because it is a pretty expensive hotel, I expected top notch in every single category so I am a little more critical.

The room was spacious, although not large by recent standards. There was no desk or table, although obvious one or the other was there before, which made it impossible to work or eat. The other tables were extremely small with virtually no room to set things down. The windows did not open making the Ocean less enjoyable. No fan in the bathroom and again virtually no room for personal items. Room smelled a little stale.

While the lower lobby and rooms felt a bit dated (which is odd considering this is a relatively new hotel), the location can't be beat. In addition, the staff was very friendly. Only complaint is the $50 resort fee which is supposed to include beach access, lounge chairs and towels. However, the beach is free for anyone after Labor Day and chairs aren't available at the end of September as the beach season is over. So basically $50 resort fee for beach towels?
