Enjoy this gorgeous two bedroom, pet friendly unit that is located only a short walk from the ocean and only 250 yards from the Cherry Grove Pier. This unit has its own private entrance, as well as a full kitchen, front porch, and private back porch overlooking the fenced in yard. This property is a house that has three units, with Cottage Down being the larger first floor apartment. You will find miles of beautiful wide sandy beaches with plenty of South Carolina Sunshine with this cottage being so close to the ocean. This cottage is also nestled in a quiet residential community.


Myrtle Beach is known for its golf; boasting over 80 easily accessible courses. If a golf course is not your thing, Myrtle Beach is also known as the Mini-Golf Capital of the world, so it goes without saying that there is one nearby. Not to mention Barefoot Landing with over 100 shops and dining possibilities, including the new Lucy Buffets Lulu’s restaurant. The Little River waterfront is not even a stretch away, featuring the only Casino Cruises in the Carolina’s. This area is such a beautiful place with something for everyone.





Sleeping Arrangements:

Please note the following prior to making your reservation:

- Linens are not initially provided. We do have packages available for purchase, or you can bring your own. Linen Package includes two towels and washcloths per bed occupancy, sheets, and a dish towel per package. The package prices are $50 for a King/Queen/Double, and $25 for a twin.

- Pets are welcome, however we do charge a $75 non-refundable fee plus 12% tax per pet*. Please see pet policies below.

- Upon booking, a signed rental agreement including a government issued photo identification and credit 

card are required to be electronically submitted to the property management company prior to receiving an electronic access code to the property. This electronic code will be sent via email once all required information is received.

- Toiletries are not included.

- The listing rental rate includes parking for two (2) vehicles.

Rental Age Policy:

- Primary renters, or groups primarily with guests under the age of 25 (including student groups and events) are required to alternate fees of $50 per person for cleaning and linens*. This will override the posted cleaning fee on the listing. Groups consisting of primary renters or for guests under the age of 21, will be required to submit parent/guardian signatures and government issued photo identification. A refundable security deposit may be required.

At the last minute we we were relocated to Sand Castle Downs and the property was filthy and roach infested. Furthermore, the property grounds look nothing compare to the advertisement. There was an abandoned trailer, plywood boards, broken toilet, and the aft section of the grounds look like an overgrown dump. I actually was force to buy a broom, mop, pail, disinfectant, bleach wipes, lysol, roach bombs, because the place was deplorable, and no one from Myrtle Beach Vacation Station would answer the phone. Therefore, we had no other choice than sleeping in the car. In addition, I was forced to a universal remote control for the television. It should be against the law for this to be allowed.

The worst spot
The spot is Dirty does not look like the picture it. Rained the whole time and flooded out to where you couldn't even walk around the t VS running plugged in there was cables all over the. Place it smelled and also the wiring in the house was all messed up. And all of the things were broken beds no covers.

I was unable to stay in either of the 2 properties I was shown. Window locks were rusted out, someone had screwed the windows shut sometime in the past which I am sure violates fire codes. Stained furniture, stained floors, smelly. It was not a good experience at all nor would I recommend those properties to anyone.

Worst RENTAL COMPANY EVER!!!! DON'T STAY
VBRO booked thru Host MBvacationstation. RENTED A BEAUTIFUL 11 people sleeper condo in Cherry Cove (Property # 276871ha). However, when we arrived in the area @3pm they stated "that property was damaged in the Hurricane and it should have never been available online in the first place" , with an apology. Later to read a horrible review dating 3 days before our arrival. Hince NOT DAMAGED if there were tenants there! They then set us up with a much smaller, older, run down rental (Property # 7479263ha) only available to sleep 6 and we had 7 - 10 people in our group. We arrive at that location at 4:00pm. It was ALSO DAMAGED from the hurricane. Mud throughout the home, wet stained future, the appliance had been removed, the outlets didn't work, dryer fans everywhere. It was obvious this was also uninhabitable and damaged from the hurricane. After waiting a couple hours for a response, we finally drove the MBVS office for some answers. There where cars in parking lot but no one would answer the locked door or phones. We were left with no choice but to get rooms somewhere else. 4 hours later the only availability we found in Cherry ground was a 2 star run down dirty motel. Finally we received an email stating they had nothing available to accommodate our whole family for the entire duration of our stay. And NOW REFUSE US A REFUND after it blatantly reads in the contract. "Renters get a full refund if there rental is found UNINHABITABLE. THIS is the very summarized version of their awful professionalism and lack of urgency. We were left stranded for hours with upset special needs children, services animals and elderly grandparents in a muddy, moldy, wet, damaged home! Just horrible!!! After sending them a highlighted copy of the rental agreement they have now stopped all communication and refuse to respond.

This is a very gross display of unethical practices and there should be protections for consumers against this type of irresponsible behavior. The property management is more than aware of the lies they're selling with the pictures posted in the ad. The property does not look like the pictures. Very misleading. Management has not returned my call as promised. No option for a refund. We did not stay. There were dead cockroaches in the living area. Broken flooring that could easily cause serious harm to tennants. Smelled of urine when entering. Door handle nearly falling off door. Outside is very dirty. Mops and buckets and brooms disorderly at the front entrance. Back door does not have a deadbolt lock handle to lock and unlock door. Additional cost per bed for linen. Furniture damaged beyond normal wear and tear. Unacceptable all around. When we arrived, the tennants next door were outside waiting for their room to be cleaned at 6pm EST. When we were leaving, the upstairs tennants were arriving and said the cleanliness upstairs was just as bad. Will not only never book with this property management group but highly unlikely to use VRBO as this was my first booking. Please do something about this site and management company as this is borderline negligent on their part.

The pictures do not match reality.Dirty broken furniture, (front, back porch and livingroom coach) old candy under a bed my fog almost choked. Electrical cords hanging from the microwave. Located down an alley with potential to get blocked in parking. Again pictures did not match. Loud aggressive dogs on 2 sides of property. Management did not return phone calls during business hours. We did not stay and ruined our vacation. Can submit pictures.

Cockroaches Galore
Upon entering the property after multiple door code snafus, we were greeted immediately by staggering number of cockroaches scattering from the countertops. Directly after that we went to set our bags down on the “brown” couch that was so worn and disgusting that it actually had the appearance of black mold growing on the furniture. The furniture was also covered in sand, understandable for it being a beach rental, but unacceptable for initial check in. The second day i ran out to get coffee, because the coffee maker had a dead cockroach in it. While I was gone my wife came out of the shower to a strange man standing in the living room with a massive dog. Not his fault, as he was given the wrong code to the other apartment this company owns next door. However, the code did work on our door and since his booking was grossly misrepresented, it was not at all his fault for making the assumption that the door that was pictured online, was the right door to use the code they gave him. House had visible water damage, mold, etc. throughout the entire house. The bedding was absolutely filthy as well. All food was takeout as you can’t prep with cockroaches running about. When we went to reheat the leftovers cockroaches had breached the fridge so that was no longer an option. Can’t believe management and/or VRBO could consider this home to be in rentable condition.

I rented cherry grove cottage down last minute from VRBO which then transferred to Myrtle Beach Vacation Station. The unit was not in a livable state. I was offered To relocate to Pik Nik at the beach left. this unit was also not livable. Both units were infested with bugs, furniture and mattress covered with urine and smelled like vomit. Urine stained mattresses outside of the units. They offered a reclean but there was no way that would fix any of the problems. I was then offered another upgraded property for additional money which I declined. I was forced to get another unit from a different realtor because it was 8pm and we had no where to go. I was then offered a 3rd property The Virginian which looking in the window was enough for me to see that it was just a filthy as the first 2. I asked for a refund of the rental fees and said they could keep their realty fees. All I was offered was a credit for another stay. This company does not advertise true photos of their units. VRBO should not allow them to use their site. This realty company should be shut down. No one should be allowed to rent these disgusting units. I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for 40 years and have never seen a property like these. The local code enforcement department needs to be aware of these rental units.

It could have been a very nice place with just a few adjustments.
With just a few minor things the place would have been okay. The broken blinds, the dirty out dated furniture, the boards coming a lose on the floor and baseboards were separating from the wall in the kitchen. Roaches in the kitchen area. All the sinks were stopped up. The mattress es were horrible. I would not recommend to anyone. Please go and check on your property. I have pictures if you need to see what I’m talking about. Very deceiving
First off the place wasn’t very clean at all then tile on the floor was popping up so everyone of us tripped then all the outside chairs were broken and nasty oh and this place has cockroaches called and told manager of property and they said we will send someone out to spray and NOONE EVERY SHOWED UP DO NOT RENT THIS UNIT ITS HORRIBLE the beds are so broken down and dirty we were scared to sleep what we could sleep worried about waking up with a broken back or bugs all over you we actually stayed in the same location in 2019 and it wasn’t as bad it’s crazy how much this property has went down hill in just 2 years and no upkeep at all very dissatisfied and disappointed

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT RECOMMEND !!
This property looks nothing like the pictures. The house is disgusting. upon arriving at the property we had to wait to check in for them to have time to clean which wasn't a problem except that the house was STILL dirty! when calling the property managers about the horrible conditions of the house they were VERY UNWILLING to help or do anything to make it better. I was also told by someone there that the house was under water the previous summer and nothing was replaced, my son who is 4 has asthma and I was not taking the chance of living in that for a week. The property owners who live in the dump hole next door seen no issue with the condition of the house. The house had flooring coming up, the fridge door handle was broken, one of the A/C units wasn't even hooked up right so the unit was blowing the hot air back in the house and leaking water, the couch was supposed to be brown but it was black from the filth and had burn holes. The door seal was hanging off the door, the bathroom shelf was hanging on by a thread the light in the living room was barley hanging on. the toilet had pubic hair all over it and the water was black, there was a ring in the bathtub from when the previous people used it. I could go on and on the whole place was nasty. They sent someone out to clean 2 hours later and all she brought was a broom and a dustpan and a bedcover. Also the "property owners" lived next door and seemed like very sketchy people so we did not feel comfortable staying given the condition of the house and with not feeling safe to keep our stuff there. Also the parking lot was VERY tiny and not ideal for big vehicles, I had a hard time getting my jeep in and out of the parking space. the house is a lot more run down then the pictures look. we only stayed 3 hours and left and they refused to give us a refund or provide us with another place so we will be taking matters to court. please save yourself the trouble and go with a different place !

The floorboards were broken to wear you sub your toe and trip. There was no air conditioner. Instead it was a machine that blew cold air out the front but got it the back so it just didn't help. The air things on the wall leaked water all over the floor constantly. The washer and dryer did not work. The chairs outside were all broke and my daughter got all cut up from the chairs. Definitely not safe for kids. Worst place I've ever stayed. I tried to call the manager of the property and they did not respond. Other tenants went to the office to complain and they were told they would sent someone but no one came.

Pleasantly surprised - Great place to stay with large dogs.
My friend and I stayed at Cherry Grove Cottage Down because we realized we could work from the beach during COVID as well as we could work from our home offices. I was apprehensive booking this property because of some of the previous reviews I had read, but we needed a pet friendly place for our 2 large dogs at a good rate. The place was perfect for us, and we had a wonderful stay! I was pleasantly surprised - the whole place was very clean. The back yard was clean and the grass was cut. I worked my 7-4 office job from the peaceful back porch - the WiFi was fast and stayed connected. The neighbors are locals and were all super nice. We didn’t see any bugs as one previous reviewer had mentioned. The kitchen was stocked well. There was one issue with the dryer not turning on & the electrician couldn’t make it out to fix it- but it wasn’t a big deal because the owner came over and showed us where another dryer on the property was located that we could use if needed. The booking manager was top notch - everything we needed to know about the property and the local area was provided in emails, and Jennifer checked on us a couple times just to be sure we had everything we needed while we were there. I can see where the parking would be tight during the busy season, but we only had one car and the guests above us only had one car, so there were no parking issues at all for us. I slept in the master bedroom and the bed was comfortable - I rested well each night. My friend slept in the guest room and didn’t complain, so her bed must have been fine too. I’ll stay here again, and I’m going to try more properties managed by Myrtle Beach Vacation Stations. I took a video when we arrived and sent it to my husband to let him know the place was, indeed, like the photos on the booking site. He was also skeptical when I booked because of some of the previous reviews, but I can say my friend and I had a nice time and we have no negative things to say about the place. I’ll post the video if possible.

Our family had a good time at the beach here. Cherry Grove is a nice family friendly beach to have a relaxing vacation. The rental was just as listed. A couple repairs are needed, but all in all worth the price.

Avoid at all costs
This property is nothing like the pictures. These pics must have been taken when they originally remodeled and staged for the photos. Most of the furniture is the same, but it was very dirty, flies everywhere, grass in backyard was 2 feet high, mold on the patio furniture, appliances were very dirty, bar stools broken. This rental was so bad that we had to find another place to stay, as they had no other property to offer us that was not a downgrade from this one as they stated. The downgrade would have been a place with no air conditioning and no microwave. Also, we were not able to even get ahold of anyone at first. It took us a while to get through to anyone. I spoke with Lisa and was told that they did not agree with my opinion on the rental, but did send someone out to cut the grass. I could go on and on about this experience, but to sum it up, STAY AWAY! False advertising and very poor property management. We ended up paying twice as much as we intended on this vacation since we had to find another place to stay and was denied any form of reimbursement from this rental company, and all I asked for was a % of my money back. I wonder if the owner is aware of the poor maintenance of this property? GROSS!!! I wished I would have thought to take pictures, but I was just concerned of getting my family out of there and finding another place to stay.

Loved the small fenced-in backyard. Kitchen and bathroom were pretty clean. Had plenty of hot water for showers for all 6 of us. The negatives: too many flies and a sandy floor before we entered. Thankfully, the place had a broom and a fly-swatter!
