While the budet and mid day pool cafe were great ,the food in the restaurants was not good at all. Sad really.... The intertainment was not engaging during the day and fitness is not on par with any other resorts.

The resort is actually nice. The restaurants were not good with the exception of the buffet and the mexican restaurant, other then that they were bad. I did like that they do have good entertainment every night. My review is compared on other resorts i have a stayed at like secretes de vine.

The staff so friendly in every place you go. Always with a smile and willingness to help. Also the bar is beyond my expectations. All you ask they have it. If not, they'll create something for you. All the pools crystal clear water all the time. I love the variety of the food and the nice shows at night. White party a nice surprise as well. Next in Vallarta, I'll be there..

The property is beautiful and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff in all areas. Our only disappointment was the food, primarily the buffet. Not as many options as was expected snd some of options were a bit bland. The Mexician and Italian restaurants were very good. We didn’t get a chance to try the steak restaurant because the wait was always too long. We also enjoyed the food at the Sports Bar and the fact that it was open 24 hours a day. Overall we had a great vacation and will definitely stay at Riu resorts again.

The property was beautiful. I love the renovations. Our favorite RIU property so far. Staff was awesome, friendly and attentive. I give everything 5 stars My only con is, there needs to be more bathrooms by the pools

First time at a Riu resort. It was fabulous. Stayed at Puerto Varrata Palace. Gorgeous, clean friendly staff. Exvellent food, even in the buffet. See Samuel wearing a Green Bay Packer hat and lanyard on beach by pool for excursions. Try the snorkeling and 2 island catamaran one on boat 1. Thee most fun ever! Loved Riu and this trip..

The property was ok. I did not like the small swimming pool but I come for the beach…. Now, about that beach. Horse poop everywhere as cowboys bring their many horses for tourists to ride. There is nothing stopping those horses from pooping almost into the ocean water. All of it gets washed out to the ocean where we all were swimming. Smelled like a zoo. I’m a beach person and it was my priority. People offering massage on the beach don’t let you relax. Peddlers are even on the hotel part of the beach. So if you are a pool only person, I guess it is not bad. Tried to eat at the steakhouse and it was impossible to get into for us as there are no reservations and people are greedy and just come there for food. They line up half an hour before opening and it’s before 6:00pm!!!!! I come to relax and I don’t want to be in line for an hour to not even be able and eat there. They need to fix it. The food during lunch was limited and I’m not about food but it was not good. I ate my power bars at times. Alcohol was not good either. I had 3 shots of tequila my entire stay and that was not the tequila I’m used to. Looks like they use fancy bottles and pour something else in it. I still had a good time but will be looking for other stays my next trip.

Such an amazing stay! Incredibly clean always, very friendly staff, and many restaurants to choose from. Easy to catch an Uber or taxi into town if desired. Very clean beach, highly recommend the pink tent for massages on the beach (left side). Highly recommend Hotel Rius and will hopefully be visiting again. Thank you!
