Otokuni is 14 kilometres southwest of the centre of town. If you're arriving via Itami Airport, collect your suitcase, flag down a taxi and head 25 kilometres northeast.

This city is jam-packed with things to see and do, and you'll discover many of them near Otokuni. It's no easy task to pick the leading sights here, but Katsura Imperial Villa and the Saihoji Temple are a couple you can't miss. After taking a look at those, you're going to want to continue on to Fushimi Castle and the Nintendo World Headquarters. While you're in town, consider checking out some other neighbourhoods to see more of what Kyoto offers. Oyamazaki and Nagaokakyo are good suggestions that are close by.
