THE COTTAGE

The architect's plan for this refurbished, lovely stone cottage, positioned with truly the greatest view of the main Lake, was to create the ultimate retreat for couples or friends in search of unmatched location and prime fishing. The perfect base from which to explore Kentucky Lake has successfully been constructed. The 680 square-foot lake front area of its deck offers spectacular sunrises without another structure in sight - only a calm unspoiled setting - the lake and nature. This majestic environment seems complete as visitors experience the remarkable image of a Bald Eagle reflected on the water as it soars in to perch on the branch of a surrounding tree. The wrap around deck totals 1100 square feet and is the ideal place to discover the beauty and serenity of Kentucky Lake by the light of day or under a starry sky at any season of the year. There is no more beautiful setting to begin or end your visit to the Lake. Conveniently located only 13 miles from Murray State University. We do include Free WiFi.

While the cottage's design maintains a rustic mood special attention has been paid to provide distinctive quality furnishings and unique amenities that ensure the guests' comfort and a restful visit. The top floor of the cottage has a cathedral ceiling. The living space and dining area feature a grand stone fireplace and floor to ceiling windows that share the main deck's great views. Two well appointed queen bedded rooms and a full bath are also upstairs. Downstairs with a separate entrance is a quaint twin bedded room with a full bath, as well as a laundry facility.

Enhancing and maintaining quality is a happy necessity that keeps our customers returning. Ensuring that every season be one of great memory making feature a custom boat dock adjacent to the cottage with an on property boat rental. A very thoughtful process of considering what features make for the best waterfront experience has brought about many conveniences with the addition of the deluxe dock.

First, There is the Access - Here there is no steep slope or long trek to your boat. Being only one hundred feet away, step out the door and be on the dock in a minute or less. Please note: Lake levels are Gov't controlled and may be lower during non peak seasons.

Coverage and Quality are Redefined – Equipped with an attractive and highly functional hip roof, superior protection from the elements is ensured. Not only is the aluminum decking non-slip, but it is splinter free.

Then, there is the Relaxation & Recreation – If after a day out you return full of the sense that exploring and playing on the lake can be both fun and hard work, here is the place to reflect on the day you have had and contemplate tomorrow’s plans. Having a 12x28 swim platform complete with a retractable ladder makes this the spot to share a fun and rejuvenating break lounging, sunbathing or swimming.

We cannot forget the Exceptional Fishing Possibilities - Many of the cottage’s guests return to revisit the location right on our lakefront where they have had very rewarding days fishing for blue gill, bass, crappie, and catfish. We are confident that their future visits will leave them happily convinced and surprised that their past successes here have been surpassed.

The Property Boat Rental: Several well-equipped boats are available to guests at special rates. It is one more convenience, and can add hours to vacation time on Kentucky Lake. There is no drive to and from a marina to collect and return a boat. For a rental over multiple days how great it is to have the driving completely eliminated? Imagine instead the pleasure of a sunrise breakfast ending seamlessly with a stroll across the lawn to board the boat that awaits you at your private dock. Effortlessly, straight from the comfort of your cottage a day out on the lake begins...

While visitors may be satisfied to not leave the property during their stay, there are many great experiences to be found locally:

FISHING: The fish are surely not hard to find, but for visitors with the goal of maximizing their fishing experience the owners have established relationships with the areas most knowledgeable guides. We are delighted to introduce guests to any one of these specialists who have each made it his life's passion to master and uncover this lake’s greatest features - impressive fishing opportunities and a wide array of wildlife. They are at the disposal of the expert or the novice and promise anyone wishing to learn and have the mysteries of Kentucky Lake revealed a day that will long be remembered.

GOLF: In addition to the satisfaction a day on the water offers, just a 15 minute drive away is Miller Memorial Golf Course - considered to be one of the finest golf courses in west Kentucky's lakes region, it presents many challenges for even the most seasoned golfer.

LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES: Guests have a direct view of the Land Between the Lakes from the cottage itself. It's just a 15 minute drive away. It is a national recreation area with 170,000 acres of wildlife, history, and outdoor activity opportunities, surrounded by 300 miles of undeveloped shoreline. LBL’s Elk & Bison Prairie is a 700-acre restoration of Kentucky’s native barrens. The Homeplace is an 1850’s working farm where west Kentucky’s history comes alive - Interpreters in period clothing demonstrate on a daily basis the chores and activities of another time. There are special events and festivals for every season. On another day one might return to explore the 200 miles of trails, the Nature Station, or the Golden Pond Planetarium & Observatory.

Absolutely Perfect
Perfect spot for our 5-day getaway with our two dogs. Waking up to the lake view each morning was a great way to start the day. (We were even lucky enough to have a bald eagle hanging out on the property.) The cottage was stocked with everything we needed to feel at home—including a thoughtful treat basket for both us and our pups! We enjoyed every moment and look forward to returning in the future. The town is really cute and an easy drive if you want to explore the area around Murray State.

Quiet, beautiful, relaxing!
Pam and Paul are spectacular! The view is beyond beautiful. We rented one of the boats and Paul is the best instructor - EVER! Visit the Murray Farmers Market - it is a must. Everyone is so nice, friendly and makes you see that the town is a place to consider living! We were told the Marina had the best 'Burgers' and it is true! Actually all of the food at the Marina is wonderful. The drinks . . . are even better. If anyone tells you to go visit the 1880's Settlement - let us save you the trip and the expense - food at Patti's is less than desirable, expensive, and the workers are less friendly than anyone you will meet in Murray. Dinner for 4 over, with 1 drink, and 2 desserts over $200.00. Two of us did not even eat more than 2 bites of the 'pork chop' and was still on the table when the desserts were delivered. The Stone Cottage and Murray is a must and we bet that the view in the fall - when the leaves are changing is breathtaking.

Perfect Getaway!
Our family of 4 stayed at the Stone Cottage over the week of the 4th of July. We had such a great time and cannot wait to come back!! Honestly everything was thought of! My oldest loved having his own space/entrance downstairs. Thank you so much for the basket of snacks - my boys devoured them and it was such a sweet touch. There is a Walmart about 20-25 minutes away and I was excited to find out that they deliver groceries! I had groceries for the week delivered the morning following our check-in, which was such a huge help and saved us from having to make the trip into town. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook in and also to grill out back. We watched some DVDs & movies in the evenings. While there was no Smart TV where we could log into our Netflix/Amazon, etc. to stream - there was a great movie channel selection thru DirecTV. The back deck was wonderful - it's truly a million-dollar view! We loved the private and quiet setting. We used the outdoor table for eating and lounge chairs for reading. Much time was spent outside on the back deck and also on the dock. We also rented their boat for the week and had a blast. Our two teenage boys were able to tube and fish. Thank you so much for letting us rent your beautiful cottage. We cannot wait to come back! I think fall would be so beautiful with the trees and changing leaves!

Lake get-away
The cottage was perfect for me, my husband and our 11 y/o son. I have never stayed in a rental as clean as this cottage was! Immaculate! The owners go above and beyond with communication, welcoming arrival and all the extra’s that are provided, such as basket of snacks (our son had nothing but toes hanging out of it), spices, foil, baggies, hand soap, paper towels and so much more that we have always had to provide ourselves when renting! The air conditioner was plenty cool for the very hot and humid days and the water for showers was plenty hot and we all 3 were able to shower without running out of hot water! We rented the boat for 3 days and after the first day adjusting to where we could go and where to avoid, we had a blast the other two days fishing, tubing (we did provide our own tube) and going to marina for lunch!! We saw many deer and our son loved “honking” with the geese that are frequently in the lake and yard! We night fished off the dock where my son caught what we would guess was a 6lb cat fish, we throw all ours back, and plenty of blu gill!! My husband and I are definitely looking at a visit for just the two of us!

Tranquility at its best
This place was amazing! We were beating down from a long day of traveling, 14 hours in the car!! We didn’t get in til midnight and Pam still greeted us at the door to show us around. This stone house is gorgeous and cozy, it’s was kinda odd not to have more than one dura log in the fireplace at a time and only one supplied to us for a two nite stay and no burning wood in the fireplace or outside. But we made due. Sad thru don’t do boat rentals this time of year with the lake being so low. The beds were cozy and loved the light fixtures in bedrooms, the Stained glass sconces type that give off a gorgeous glow. The lake was very low so low you could see an old cemetery from before they flooded the site. One family didn’t want their loved one moved so he and his headstone remain in the middle of the lake!! That’s neat. The sunrise was freaking gorgeous!! Cuddled up and watched the storm roll in. Also had unique mirrors for the doors to bedroom and bathroom that changed from see thru windows to a mirror! That’s cool!! There is a TVA trail right next to the right of the house that is a nice little walk around and down to lake where there is a picnic table and a fire pit. Loved this place and would definitely stay again

Great location
The home has a beautiful location on the lake, it is only one hundred feet from the private dock. The property butts up against the park area and it is very secluded area. The property owners are very close if something goes wrong and they come right over if you need something. The fire place is nice and it has the feel of a cottage in the woods. If I had anything that was a problem for me it would be the size of the bathrooms, take in mind though I am a very large guy, it was not a problem for my wife. The basket of snacks was very nice and Pam even had a bag of dog treats for our Precious. Pam and Paul made getting a little down time a wonderful experience.

We found everything we needed for a weekend of rest and relaxation. The cottage was spotless and provided everything we needed and more. The view in three directions was beautiful. I'm sure the lake is full of activity and fun in the spring and summer months, but it also provides a peaceful place of relaxation and beauty in the fall and winter.

Kentucky Getaway Fall 2022
Cute little cottage very quiet & close to the water. It has a washer & dryer which was really nice. We did all meals here, plenty of kitchen utensils. The restaurants were not close by if you plan on that. Having the option to rent a boat from the owners was really nice. We all like to fish but this really wasn’t a good time of year for it but we gave it a shot! Second bathroom is located downstairs in separate area. Lots of stairs so if bad knees may not be what you are looking for.

Private Secluded Lake House
My wife and I took 2 weeks off of work and traveled over 1,000 miles and stayed at 3 different properties including this one, and this property gets our 5 star review. The location of the property is A+. You're right on the water and have access to a well made private dock. Boat rentals are provided by the host if you want to venture out on beautiful KY Lake. We had fun fishing and swimming from the dock. The host Pam was great. She personally checked us in and provided us additional details and recommendations while on property. Disclaimer to any TMobile users we did not have phone service on property perhaps you can contact your phone carrier prior to booking to check? We used the cottage WiFi without issue and made the most of our (unplugged) trip. We don't hold this against the host, but wanted those considering to be aware. There is a basket near the TV that has an assortment of local restaurant menus, trail maps and other nearby attractions to consider. Host is subscribed to all premium channels, a nice perk when concluding a long day on the water. We look forward to booking our next trip here in the near future.

We where graciously greated by our host. Where advised on local activities, quisin and shopping availability. Everything at this lake house where wonderful. The pictures and descriptions can hardly do it justice. The home was stocked very well with the needed items for cooking and grilling out. The deck is a great place to enjoy all of nature and the views of the lake. Beds are very comfortable. I will recommend this place to my family and friends.
