Love Carillion, SeaBatical Not So Much
We’ve stayed in Carillon every year since 2012 in several different houses. This, by far, was the most disappointing. Found blood stains on the sheets on the bed downstairs. Sheets were clean but.. (Property Manager changed the sheets the next morning). The next morning, we discovered more blood stains on the master bed sheets upstairs. Strange to have two beds with stains. The master bath upstairs has a strange problem with the plumbing. Each night between 3:30 and 5:30 AM a loud whistling sound would start in the wall above the toilet. Flushing the toilet would stop it but it’s a pain to have to get up. Every home we have rented in Carillon normally has beach towels available for use, not here. Most have spices in the kitchen, not here. No salt/pepper, nothing. The bath towels are the roughest and cheapest towels we’ve experienced in Carillon or a hotel for that matter. Dead bugs on the floor as we went into the house at check-in. The beach toys advertised were not with the home. Refrigerator makes ice but will not dispense ice or water. Overall, the house is just suffering from lack of maintenance and care. It did feel clean but the house just doesn’t meet the normal standards of a home in Carillon.

Photos deceiving
1. Much smaller than photos indicated. 2. Downstairs and upstairs bath smelled like dogs 3. Difficulty unlocking unit. Had to contact manager to find out you had to lift the handle and turn the key at the same time to get into house. This should be posted. 4. Vacasa made it a real pain to get all the paperwork submitted with multiple codes to try to get in the gate 5 multiple light bulbs out. Maintenance brought more bulbs over. 6. Coffee pot flooded coffee grains and coffee on counter every morning. Reported this. No resolve 7. Ad said sleeps 8. That evidently meant two people on the pullout couch that did not work. Had to prop. Up. Maintenance did come to fix 8. House needed a good cleaning and moping. Carpet in den had gross stains 9. Wash clothes were yellow and disgusting. Told manager. No response. 10. Closet sliding door had to be lifted up to close

Affordable, pet friendly and great location
We loved our stay at 206 Village Way in Carillon Beach. The house has such an interesting floor plan. Who knew you could organize such great space on a smaller lot? Amazing. Great place for couples as well as couples with small children. I love the children's bunk bed room with the little desk and TV. I also liked the outdoor shower and shower in bathroom accessible from outside. Perfect for keeping the sand on the beach where it belongs. I would like to see the master bath renovation complete. It is off to a good start. I would also like to see a new mattress. My side had a dip. I loved I could have my dogs with me. That was so important.

Vacasa is (still) a nightmare to deal with, rent from elsewhere if you can!!!
Check in process and dealing with Vacasa was awful, we had a negative experience with them years ago and they haven’t changed. We received an email with instructions to pick up a parking pass package to be able to enter the community. We arrived a few hours early to the Vacasa office and asked to pick up the pass and stated that we understand that we cannot get into the house early but would like to get the pass to not have to come back to their office. Vacasa said we’d have to come back at 4PM to pick up the pass. Friends of ours had rented a place in the community so we got our own pass through them. About two hours later we got a text from Vacasa that the house was ready for early check in so we packed up the car and three young kids and drove back over to the Vacasa office. Vacasa said the text was sent in error and the unit was not ready and we had to come back at 4pm. At that point we were just furious that they wanted us to come back a third time for a parking package we didn’t need because we had our own pass. The Vacasa office staff even admitted they knew the email that the unit was ready continues to be sent out to guests even though it is wrong. Via email they had already sent access code instructions to the unit so we just went there (it ended up being ready despite them saying it was not). Their instructions also included nothing about the door being a hurricane door and needing a special mechanism to be locked. We ended up having to call maintenance and wait for 45 minutes for them to show up as we couldn’t lock the door… meanwhile their instructions on what we needed to do prior to checkout were very detailed. Be sure to ask for instructions on how to lock the door! The house was fine, it does need some touch ups. There is chipped paint, mold in the shower, and the wood floors are pretty beat up. We love the community and like to bring the dog so there are not many choices unfortunately.

Great place. Close to the beach! Great outdoor porch Needs a deeper clean
The house was so comfortable and close to the beach. We enjoyed the second story porch, appreciated the outdoor shower, and enjoyed the (Partially functioning) house speaker system. Twice we requested maintenance on a bathroom sink. No one ever showed to address this. Outdoor sound system speakers and second floor porch lights didn’t appear to work. We were told to ask maintenance when they came but they never showed. We love Carillon and will definitely be back!

Nice home
Close walking distance to beach. Nice safe gated community. Master bed is on a platform with three steps up which may be a little tricky for older adults. Large shaded balcony with plenty of seating

Nice place but..
Great house on very quiet lot but it is well worn. Clean but the master bathroom has a mildew in the tile and covering bottom half of shower curtain. Master king bed mattress is in need of replacement - sags. Hardwood floors need sanding and a clear coat. Furniture in sitting room is well worn. The bottom bedrooms are nice but know the bunk bedroom is basically a closet with bunk beds. Very close to the beach and we love the neighborhood which is super close to grocery store and nice restaurant's toward 30A. If staying for a week bring all spices and oils for cooking in addition to dishwashing and clothes washing detergent. With some improvements this place would be top notch.

Could use some upkeep....
07/18/19 - I was a little hesitant making this reservation considering the lone, very negative review. However, given the limited opportunities on short notice, flexibility in booking for less than 7 days, and good price in comparison to what was available, I went ahead and gave it a shot. Overall, we were satisfied with the house and it suited all of our needs traveling with 4 kids. It was a short maybe 5 minute walk to the beach and 2 minutes to the pool. That being said, the negative remarks on the first review are not exaggerated. The overall look of the home is rather outdated. The furniture, while comfortable, is rather worn in, faded and shows wear. There’s several things that show poor upkeep like broken shutters, doors that don’t latch or lock properly, broken paper towel and toilet paper holders, squeaky fan in the master, broken door stops, and the attic crawl space in the master closet was caved in and broken down. And most frustrating, the remotes are missing backs, no batteries and all mixed up with the TVs. We were never able to get the upstairs game room TV to work since there doesn’t seem to be a remote for it and the buttons are on the back of the TV, with it wedged in the built in so difficult to access. Also the cable box upstairs would never turn on. It did have great appliances and the beds were in good condition and slept comfortably. We’ve rented Carillon for several years, always through individual private home owners. This was our first year through a rental company and I can definitely tell the difference in pride of ownership and maintenance. I would stay here again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Property needs sprucing up
We have been vacationing in the Carillon/Pinnicle Port area for close to 20 years. Many strolls past the properties at Carillon lead us to selecting Liberte this time. First off, the folks at the rental agency really tried hard to work out the major issue, but to no avail. They should be truly applauded for the diligent work. I believe the Internet access was fixed the day after we moved out. Liberte is quaint, perfect for two or three people but the third "bedroom" is a closet with a pair of bunks installed, both short and one so close to the ceiling you can't lie on your side. The property is neglected: trees are overgrown, exterior surfaces are dirty, cigarette butts lie beside the main entrance, beer bottles lurk in the brush, lawn chairs need a cover draped over them before sitting down. Inside is generally clean and the furnature is comfortable. The master suite is generously large, but the display on the TV unit has a big blue strip down one side. (Gum on the ceiling.) Ensuite bathroom is spacious but badly in need of a reno since the shower/bath walls are a little mouldy. The main room has a large seating area and fantastic AV system, except the DVD player only has black and white output. Kitchen is well appointed, but there are few utensils. Only a three minute walk to the beach or sport areas or pool. Close to the gym at Carillon.

Darling & close to beach
This house was perfect for our family of 6 (2 parents, 4 kids). We've stayed at Seacrest, Seaside and Seagrove but Carillon beach, so far, is the best of the bunch. It's close to the beach and no need to haul your stuff across 30A to get there. We timed it - took the kids less than 4 minutes to get to the beach from the house. Also loved having 3+ pools available when kids wanted a change of scenery. In fact, there's a pool pretty much ON the beach near this house. We loved it! Really liked the location - wedged between Panama City and 30A but without all the traffic nonsense. We enjoyed having a beach set-up as part of the rental. The porch and pavilion were perfect outdoor dining/relaxing areas. The third floor master suite and sitting area were roomy and a great escape from the kids. Kitchen was clean and practical, but would have been nice to have some more pantry items (salt, pepper, measuring spoons, baking sheets, etc). Plenty of nice bath towels were provided. Great place. We wish we had booked it longer.

DISSAPOINTED! Love Carillon Beach but the House was not worth the money we paid.
We have stayed in Carillon Beach many times, this house was awful!! The pictures doesn't show how run down the furniture in living room is and how uncomfortable and dirty it was and needs to be replaced. The hardwood floors needed major cleaning, our feet were black after being there two hours. The front door glass thermopane seal was in need of repair because you can't look out of front door to the lake view because of the fogged up glass. The shutters wouldn't stay open because they were worn out to see out the front windows. A Picture in the dining room appeared to have mold growing in the bottom right side of picture, water stains on paint under window in dining room looked like it had water leaking down from window previously. Master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. Listing said there were 4 TV's, there were only 3TV's and no TV or bathroom was in the second master bedroom. The paint on walls were marked up bad and carpet needs to be cleaned. The gas grill was not in safe working conditions. It is sad that you look forward to this time with family and friends and we got that house. The only positive thing I can say is Carillon Beach Rentals after complaining about the house after checking in, was they did try to move us into the only thing they said they had left. Unfortunately due to the size of people we had, it wasn't big enough to accommodate everybody comfortably due to the sleeping arrangements or we would have moved. I also called Wyndham who we booked this thru and didn't do anything but listen. Lesson learned from this experience, not to rent anything that doesn't have reviews. That's your first sign, I asked Wyndham about that before booking and got the answer they had a new computer system. I feel very deceived and taken for the hard earned money it takes to pay for such a nice place and have what we got. I have tried to contact Wyndham by email and calling for them yesterday to post my complaints but of course it keeps telling me Access denied. I hope nobody else has to go thru this issue. This is very alarming and makes you hesitant to ever book through them again. Feel very deceived.
