We were in town for one night for a bowling tournament. The desk agent who checked us in on Saturday was great, friendly and professional. The room looked OK to us, although the A/C was noisy and clunky and the desk had a big, sticky patch on it. The bathroom was clean, which is a point of emphasis for my wife. Our troubles started Sunday morning, when I tried to take a shower and had NO water. Multiple attempts by both of us didn't change that. We don't generally check that when we check in, but I suppose we'll have to start. We had water in the sink, so we were able to get a little clean, but not the shower we really needed after bowling the day before. When we brought the problem to the attention of the front desk clerk, she told us she was new and to call someone else after 11am. We had to check out, but when we called later, that person told us she couldn't do anything for us and that we needed to talk to the manager during normal weekday business hours. When we did, we were basically told that it was our fault because there were other rooms available to be moved to if we'd asked. The fact that we had about 90 minutes to shower, have breakfast, and check out didn't matter. We were offered a $10 credit toward our next stay...but we declined, because we won't be coming back.
