THIS IS NOT A HOTEL! We had a very dificult time finding the place. They are located inside a rather large older development that is under renovations and you are surrounded by construction work and garbage. The number is almost impossible to see on the exterior of the building and upon entering the door to the complex you have no idea this could be a hotel.Our Taxi driver couldn't even find the building and a coffee shop next door had never heard of New Design St Peter! I have several pictures of the construction garbage in the courtyard and the state of construction . Service is only available from 9.00 am to 2.00 PM and communication is through an app called WHATSAPP- You can send them a message after 2.00 pm but you do not get a response until after 9.00 am the next day-Great for an emergency! The rooms are barely adequate and we could hear someone coughing in am adjoining room many times. We had a written confirmation from Expedia outlining our cost but it was not honoured by |New Design St Peter. They said there had been a change in some kind of tax about 2 years ago -I objected to paying the increase as they would have received the same information about my stay from Expedia that was on my confirmation but they would not give us the key unless we paid the extra. And unfortunately all of this was taking place by telephone as they were not onsite. If you want to be considered as a Hotel you need to provide better service, need more signage and have staff available.

New Design St. Peter is in an excellent location and safe area. Felt safe walking even in the wee hours of the morning or late at night. Walking distance to Vatican Museum, St. Peter's Basilica and Metro A station and other tourist areas. The area has lots of nearby restaurants. The room is clean and descent in size. Highly recommended!

This property was great except that the elevator was not working. We had to carry 2 large suitcases up and down 5 flights of stairs upon arrival and departure. This also was very inconvenient after a long day of sight seeing.

Great location, walking distance to eateries and the Vatican, EXCEPT the Lift was under repair/ reconstruction. Our room was on the 3rd floor (4th level) and was difficult for 80 yr old couple to carry luggages on those 4 flights stairways…..our arrival on 7/20/25 was after 2 pm past their office hours of 9AM - 2PM. Departure was early too, so no one could assist with our luggages. Thank you to Valerie, the owner who was very accommodating and solved our AC problem. Would recommend this place after all the construction is done. Beautiful and modern interior set up! Safe place to stay too.

Beautiful accommodations and a wonderful hotelier. Valeria was sweet, helpful, quick to respond to our questions and made wonderful recommendations on places to eat. There is a lovely sitting area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, fill your water bottle and collect your thoughts. Many food options nearby as well as a Metro station. Easy walking distance to the Vatican. We used a cab to access the historic district as those sites are farther away. There are renovations happening on the grounds and courtyard which prevented us from enjoying them. The elevator was also under construction and we could not use it. We had a safe in our room and all entrances to the property, building and floor required an access code. This made us feel very comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily and having WiFi access made it easy to stay in touch with home and research our tours and restaurants. Having so many places to choose from and being first time travelers to Rome, we were very pleased.

The room is newly designed. It would of been a pleasant stay based on location and accessibility, especially with the way New Saint Peter was advertised... unfortunately there were many points as to why it was a bit disappointing. We advanced booked 2 seperate stays. On the first stay, after the first night, the air conditioner did not work. On the second stay, on the first night the air conditioner started leaking soaking the floor. In general, as well, we were not informed that the place being stayed at was under construction and that elevator was out of service despite being up 3 flights of stairs with luggage (*note for those disabled or with wheelchair). We were only informed after the booking was unrefundable. We asked for a refund for the second stay as we wanted to change our mind, but was not allowed.

Broken elevator. No front lobby and did not receive instructions in advance to know service was from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm we arrived after 2:00 door was locked. Don’t keep your luggage after 2:00 pm because no one is onsite to assist you. Location is good, place is clean, a/c broke and was fixed next morning. Room recently renovated and nice.
