Everything about our stay was wonderful. Sheila and Guy are delightful hosts. Their home is stunning, and our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious from the homemade yogurt and granola to the unique sausages from the local butcher, and the freshly ground coffee. Sheila made an effort to get to know us and was ready to recommend many local sites along with maps and guides. Also, Ross-on-Wye is a charming village with several excellent places for dinner. Staying here was a highlight of our trip.
We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful B&B. Sheila and Guy are such warm and welcoming hosts. The house dates back to the 16th century with glorious heavy wooden beans and whitewashed walls. The fittings, shower, bath etc are top quality, and the breakfast is glorious. We can't recommend this place highly enough.
Sheila and Guy made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived; nothing was ever too much bother. In our opinion you will not find a better B & B we highly recommend this place for comfort, quality, service, and location.
This is without a doubt the best property (hotel, air bnb, B&B) that I have ever stayed at. The rooms were beautiful and the building was absolutely stunning with real fires, freestanding baths and plenty of old world charm. Guy and Sheila were incredible and we couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even getting up early to make sure we could have a hot breakfast before going our for the day and catering for a vegetarian without prior notice. We had the most amazing time and I have been actively encouraging friends and family to visit! Thank you again for everything Guy and Sheila, we had a perfect weekend!
Can’t fault anything. Everything really was perfect. Possibly the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in. Sheila and Guy were so kind and helpful and friendly. Building was amazing and fascinating, rooms spotless with everything you need and more. Service superb (warm homemade cake and tea besides roaring fire when we came home from a long walk, for example).
Nothing too much trouble.
Breakfast was delicious.
Lots of great initiatives to get carbon footprint down too.
I can’t recommend highly enough. We will definitely be back!
Probably the best couple of days spent away for my wife and myself. Sheila & Guy were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and very friendly. The14th century farm house was amazing with stone or wooden floors and oak beams and wonderful fire places. The room was excellent with a very comfortable bed and amazing shower and bath. Breakfast was of the highest quality and with Sheilas home made cakes on offer the whole experience was faultless, will defiantly be returning.
Had a wonderful relaxing stay, lovely and clean, food was amazing, especially the home made cakes, granola and flapjack. Made to feel very welcome. bed super comfortable, loved the Bramble toiletries in the room. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Absolutely a 5 star stay at a beautiful b&b. I cannot fault any part of my husband’s and my stay here. Hosts were so attentive, breakfast stunning, room beautiful and really peaceful surroundings. Most definitely a place I would recommend to stay.
Great service , lovely welcome with fresh tea and gluten-free cake. Wood stove lit in sitting room for evening and breakfast. Superb room and en-suite
Excellent fir gluten-free stay.
We really enjoyed our stay despite covid regulations. Lovely and cosey, room was immaculate, lovely and spacious. With lots of little personal touches. Would definately come here again.

We had a fantastic time at Lower Wythall B&B. Sheila and Guy were incredibly kind and the perfect hosts. Sheila went out of her way in making sure we were comfortable during our 2 days. We had use of a gorgeous living room with log burner which was super cosy. Delicious cake and tea was a wonderful treat when we arrived and breakfast was plentiful and well sourced. Thank you so much, we will be back!!
Incredible stay at Lower Wythall! We couldn't recommend it highly enough. Extremely comfortable, delicious breakfast and Sheila and Guy were wonderful hosts! We decided last minute to extend our stay and this was accommodated. Would definitely return!
This is the most amazing guest house. The hosts Guy and Sheila exceeded all of our expectations. The rooms are luxurious with exceptional bathrooms. The breakfasts will keep you going all day with locally sourced ingredients and so many homemade goodies such as the granola and muesli, marmalade, jam and bread. The honey is even from their own hive. Each day brought a treat of cake, brownies or biscuits lovingly made by Sheila and beautifully presented. Overall, Lower Wythall is the most welcoming and perfect place to stay.
Perfect location & home for peaceful country break
We are already recommending Lower Wythall B&B to friends and family! Sheila and Guy made us most welcome and did every thing they could to make our stay in their beautifully restored and tastefully modernised (where necessary) old farm house home. They are both excellent cooks and our breakfasts and surprise treats were all delicious.
It was our first visit to the area, and we were amazed by the beauty of the close by Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. We look forward to returning.

A very warm welcome from owners Guy and Sheila. A beautiful old property oozing with character whilst offering all mod cons. Highly recommended.
Wonderful 16th century house, beautifully and sympathetically restored. Sheila and Guy could not have done more to make our stay memorable. Sheila's home made cakes and Guy's home made bread were delicious. The breakfast was certainly one of the best we have ever had., We will certainly return and we would thoroughly recommend a visit there,
Fantastic, very welcoming and breakfast was a real treat, excellent homemade & locally sourced ingredients all freshly prepared. Nothing was too much trouble.
