Great Location
My husband and I really love The Dana. I wanted to give it the full 5 stars but a few things held me back. We have stayed there 5-6 over the last 10 years. The property is great. The location is beautiful and rooms are always clean. One downfall is the pricing. Yes, you’re paying for location, but rooms are in need of updates again. The bed was horrible. After the fourth night, I felt like I had been in a car accident. My whole body hurt from the bed. Even my husband, who could sleep on a rock, was suffering. I do not like how the AC unit is in the bathroom. It does not circulate the best throughout the room. Also, the door to the bathroom looked like it had been through a war. The entire door had been patched multiple times. It was very odd. The shower was starting to have signs of mold in the corners. It also would have been great to have a ceiling fan. These are just things when you spend over 300.00 per night, that start to bother you. Would we stay here again, possibly. Really hoping they get some new beds, ceiling fans and update the showers.

The Dana is the best
The Dana on Mission Bay is my favorite hotel in San Diego. It is so welcoming and let’s us bring our dogs, which is fantastic. We will definitely be back again soon.

This property overall was excellent to stay at. The only conplaint we had is that the electrical seems to have some issues; at least in the room we stayed in (room 501). The lighting was always flickering. Staff was helpful and kind, and room service was always prompt.

Upon check-in the staff was not very friendly , the neighbors beside us and above us were loud , every night multiple times someone tried to open our door . Also the people beside us tried to open the adjoining door multiple times.

The property was average. Traveled with kids to attend a wedding. We arrived early and decided to park at the hotel, we were told that we couldn’t check in til 4 and that they would text or call us when our room was ready. They never texted or called. We eventually arrived in our room at 9:30 pm and noticed the room was kinda dirty, rust noted around the sink, the counters and toilet didn’t look like they were clean. Thank goodness I had a few sheets of Clorox wipes in my purse to wipe down a few areas. There was a music festival going on close to the property. Our room was on the first floor and we noticed it was really loud, people were hanging very close outside our window, with tents and bonfires. I couldn’t close the shutters on the windows down because they were broken. I didn’t like the fact that I could see and hear the people when I was trying to sleep. People above us had children running and screaming til 11:30 pm. I booked this hotel based on the good reviews I read online. Paying more than $300 a night I would expect better. Wished I stayed at the Hyatt, my relatives arrived at the same time, were able to check in early, everything about it was better.

We really enjoyed our 3 day stay here. It was pet friendly but highly suggest a first floor room because there are no elevators here. Our room was right by one of the pools and liked how there was a sliding door to the grass area for our dog to walk. The pool was nice and refreshing. Also enjoyed access to the Marina and bike rental place. It was a little loud with the pool music playing until 10:00pm so suggest staying in 700-800 bldgs if you want some peace and quiet. Also did not like the 24.95 buffet breakfast. It should've been free like the other hotels because that's what it was except for an omelet bar which I should've gone too first. There is only one restaurant there which was fine, but there are others nearby. The standard 2 Queen bedroom was a little small but we managed. I would stay again, but probably get one of the suites. Overall, did enjoy it and would come back again.
