Looking for a family-friendly getaway in Eastern Tennessee? Consider this lovely two-bedroom vacation rental, which features a private hot tub, a game room, and plenty of other home comforts.

Located on the end of a secluded street just south of Pigeon Forge, this cabin feels remote while still offering easy access to the conveniences of town. Gatlinburg, one of the gateways to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is a short drive to the south - guests who love spending time outside will adore having the park so close to home.

Inside, the cabin's decor is rustic with a modern flair. Luxurious leather couches make it easy to unwind. After a long day exploring the area, stretch out and relax while you flip through the cable channels on the flatscreen TV and warm up by the fireplace.

Meals come together quickly in the well-appointed kitchen, which features all of the standard appliances as well as a dishwasher for easy cleanup. Enjoy your meals at the four-person table, or grab a quick snack at the two-person breakfast bar.

From the living room, step out onto the private deck and admire the views of the surrounding area. After a long day of hiking, soothe your tired muscles in the large private hot tub.

Step back inside and head downstairs to find the game room, which boasts a pool table, as well as a utility room featuring a private washer and dryer. You'll also find a second private deck, which has a picnic table for al fresco dining.

When night falls, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin is ready to accommodate up to six guests. The two bedrooms are master suites featuring king-size beds, flatscreen TVs, and en suite bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs. One bedroom is located on the main floor, and the other is located on the lower level. For additional guests, the couch in the living room converts to a queen-size sofabed.

After a restful night's sleep, gather your group and plan the day's activities. Head south to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and hike, bike, or horseback ride your way through the area's stunning natural beauty. Tour the park from the comfort of your car, stopping to discover historic buildings dating to the 1800s or to enjoy a scenic overlook.

Interested in more leisurely pursuits? Visit Gatlinburg for art galleries and unusual museums, or, in the winter, head to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area & Amusement Park for skiing, snowboarding, an alpine slide, and supervised wildlife encounters. Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge offers live entertainment, thrill rides, and specialty stores, while Pigeon Forge itself has plenty in the way of restaurants and retail shops.

We need him George.
Thought it was haunted (George was his name) the only thing we could think of was a pipe hitting the wall. It was loud and caused a lack of sleep for the couple sleeping in the bottom bedroom. We called and a maintenance guy showed up and thought the problem got fixed. Little did we know that George started back up later that day. My wife tried the jet tub in the bathroom and got a little surprise from the lack of cleaning out the jets. Yup, mold started coming out. Will not return.

Family Vacay!
We’ve been coming to the mountains for years now and i have to say the roads to this cabin were some of the best! Gps took us right too it and we had great cell service (verizon) when we got the cabin we had an issue with the door code not working. The only reason i even mention this, is because we had to call guest services. They were awesome! They had to do a few different things, but it took less than 10 minutes to get us into the cabin! The cabin was very clean and was perfect for our week stay! We also loved not having a mile long list of check out instructions. Definitely a 10/10 stay!

The property and cabin were beautiful. It could use a new couch. My only wish is that those narrow curvy roads were marked with signs so you knew you were headed in the right direction.

It was ok
Loved the secluded, private location with an excellent view of the Smokey mountains. The beds were comfortable. Disappointed in the condition of the cabin as far as cleanliness and basement bathroom - shower leaked on the floor and the sink faucet was loose. Hot tub was broken.

Make sure to get all your belongings when you leave
Property was hard to find when we got there. Needed better signage. Showers and floors were in need of some scrubbing. I left some clothing behind. Contacted property management. They charged me $29 and were going to send the clothes back to me. The cleaners said they never found them. They’re thieves. I won’t be staying here ever again.

Perfect, perfect, perfect!
This cabin over exceeded our expectations! The view is even better than the photos! The hot tub was easily adjustable to accommodate our two young children, and both the lower and upper decks had ample seating. The king beds were extremely soft and comfortable. If you plan to visit in the summer months and use the downstairs bedroom while the air conditioning is pumping to cool the whole cabin, bring an extra blanket because it gets COLD in the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen was a decent size with plenty of utensils and pots/pans. A list of such things would’ve been nice to have ahead of time because we ended up packing a lot of items that the cabin already had. The road leading up the the cabin is wildly narrow, steep, and windy. It is definitely not for the faint of heart as they mention in the listing. The living room couches were extremely comfortable and easily fit four adults and two young children. There is room for probably three vehicles. Plenty of extra space remained after our two vehicles (van and truck) were parked. The carpeted stairs did appear dirty but honestly I’m sure they’re just stained from people walking on them as the colour is white with dark speckles). There was no stench at all when we stayed. There is a cottage directly in front of this one but you can barely see it when sitting on the upper deck. It does not impede on the view whatsoever. Check in was easy with a code sent directly to me with instructions.

Breathtaking view
The cabin is nice yes traffic doesn't travel down in front of the cabin but there is a cabin right in front down over the hill. And another one on the hill behind you but it's still very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay The view is amazing the only issue we had was the cleanliness of the cabin it could have been a lot cleaner it had a smell of a wet dog which someone might have snuck a dog there I don't know but I have asthma and COPD it made it hard for me to breathe but when I called management they did offer to send someone up there the next day to clean it but I told them it was okay .I went and bought a wax warmer and some wax melts that help with the smell other than that it was a wonderful cabin thank you

Good location - needs a quick update
Others have already said it but I will say it too... they need to address the bathrooms. There is significant mold and the upstairs shower has a big cut in the fiberglass wall. Many tiles throughout the house are cracked and loose. Carpet on the stairs are heavily stained. The downstairs smells like a high school locker room. If this property was updated, I would stay here again. Owners - shut it down for a week and update it, you will be further ahead.

This property was listed with a gas fireplace which was one of my main must haves but it didn’t
I spend a lot of time at the cabin while my family goes out and does things. My main necessity when booking was a fireplace. Once arriving the fireplace that said to be gas was actually electric and it didn’t work. We even had the service guy come out and look at it because an electric fireplace would be better than nothing. He said it didn’t work and couldn’t be fixed. I am very disappointed

Amazing View!
We did have a small snafu. Water started leaking from the upstairs bedroom shower into the downstairs bedroom closet. But we reported it right away and they were there within a couple of hours to fix it. We were gone all day so we gave them permission to go in and fix it while we were gone. Other than that, we really enjoyed staying here. We were on a couples vacation so there were 4 adults. Kitchen was fully stocked with tableware and cookware which made it easy for us to buy groceries and cook a couple of nights. And the view was absolutely beautiful off the upper deck! We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Nice cabin in great location and amazing views, but needs a deep clean and some maintenance.
Overall, our stay at the Bear Necessities Cabin was great. It was our family of 5 (3 teenagers and the size and layout of the cabin worked well for us. Certainly, better than any hotel room or suite we would have stayed at. Pluses – first and foremost the location. We were about 10 minutes from Pigeon Forge, 10 minutes from Gatlinburg and 5-10 minutes from the Smokey Mountains National Park entrance. Also, the cabin was in the woods on the mountain, and although there were a few other cabins close by you felt like you had plenty of privacy and seclusion. The views from the cabin were remarkable. Other positives were the cabin layout – 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms (one of each of both floors), hot tub on the deck, laundry machines in the cabin, kitchen items and bath towels were provided. Minuses – although clean on the surface level, the cabin definitely needs some deep cleaning and some maintenance throughout. Also, a few additional blankets would have been nice for the pull-out bed. Thankfully we had brought some of our own to use. Unlike some VRBOs we have stayed at this cabin did provide TP, paper towels, garbage bags, soap, laundry detergent and toiletry items, which was great. All in all a nice place that provided a comfortable stay.

Beautiful views, nice cabin. Needs a couple of updates - no potholders or kitchen wash rags in house, 1 kitchen towel; downstairs bed box springs is broke so right hand side sags a lot, one of the sofas is broken upstairs and hard to close the recliner part. Plenty of room for 4-6 and a nice deck.
