My stay at Ameristar was just….neutral. The service was excellent (shoutout to Jeanne @ Front Desk and Sam @ 1853) as everyone was super accommodating and nice. But the hotel itself had issues. The WiFi was terribly slow, and my cell service in the room was nonexistent so that was concerning. Additionally the TV in my room would cut in and out seemingly every 30 seconds or so. It only did it on a handful of channels but it was not great.
Also allowing smoking in casinos should be outlawed as it was gross and you could not escape the smell.
However my room was nice, and clean, and the whirlpool tub was wonderful and the food at 1853 was excellent.

The jacuzzi in room 317 DOES NOT WORK. Do jot let them put you in this room. We had maintanence in the room twice and it still didn't work. Would run a few minutes and then stop. Staff refused to switch us rooms even though we paid the additional for a jacuzzi room. Very disappointed.
Well let’s just say…get there to check in for our 2 room stay and they say they can’t accommodate us… after a 45 minute check in and arguing we got rooms but nothing what I booked!!!
An hour after I checked in, someone walked in my room when I was gone and my key didn’t work on my return to the room. They told me I checked out an hour after I checked in. Said they gave my room to someone else.

Over charges
The stay was fine, but I was charged for two nights instead of the one night I stayed. The front desk person assured me his manager would take care of it in the morning. Two weeks and many phone calls later from both myself and hotels.com and they insist the error is on hotels.com’s end. It’s not. The extra charge is directly from the hotel and no matter how many people I speak to, the money will not be refunded. I’m extremely disappointed and would not recommend staying here. I’ve never experienced a business insisting there’s nothing they can do “on their end” when the charge is directly from then.
stopped here on our trip to Las Vegas very nice property like other reviews cigarette smoke in hotel area rooms (its a casino) not a game changer for us not much eating choses we ate at the sports bar very good service and food I think more food places are open on weekends
