Room 208 - Had a shower issue. Could not get it to turn on without feeling like you were going to pull it out of the wall. Spoke to someone and they came to the room and we ended up getting it to work. I mentioned that they should not rent this room until that is fixed.
My only complaint. LOVED the location, room cute, hotel quaint, and FUN time!
Parking was atrocious and everyone told me “you can’t park here” but nobody gave us parking access assistance that was available! Loved the room and the price was about 30 dollars too high for the lack of amenities! No access to Tampa Rays tickets or Vy-Star C. U. Anywhere South of residential location. Might return, but probably not soon! Steven McLeskey. Room 308!
So much construction outside of the window that we could not sleep in. Room was not properly cleaned before we arrived. Hair all over the floor and food in the refrigerator.
Pros: Front staff was very friendly and it's in the heart of St. Pete.
Cons: Super gross shower, VERY noisy public/pay parking lot right outside your window, and hotel parking is in a parking garage a block away so getting your bags to and from the hotel sucks!
The Cordova Inn was a very quaint older hotel that had updated the rooms and bathrooms, while maintaining the historic charm. The hotel was convenient to local restaurants and other entertainment. The staff was wonderful and greeted me on arrival.
Property is old and I am OK with that. Parking is a couple blocks away and not a convenience. They charge a resort fee of $30, but a resort it is not. No pool, spa or anything related to a resort. I was told it would be deducted from my account because it appeared to be nothing less than a money grab by the property management. I learned later that it was not taken off my bill. When walking into the room, it had a strong musty basement smell due to dirty filter and coils on the window air conditioner unit. Luckily, I travel with good air freshener since I stay in hotels rooms over 200 days a year and bad smells are a constant because animals stay in hotels now. The bathroom has an old tub with a curtain surrounding all sides. As soon as the water is turned on the curtain sticks to your rear end and is cold and uncomfortable. The area around the toilet smelled of urine and could have used a thorough cleaning with bleach to return it to a sanitary condition. The electrical outlets on the baseboards did not work and I was unable to turn on the bedside light or charge my phone overnight. I slept great and enjoyed a fantastic cup of coffee and a muffin at the lobby coffee counter. Barista was fun to chat with. Location of property is centrally located so I decided not to stay at this hotel any longer and walked over to the Vinoy to stay 2 additional nights.
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Shout out to Sydney at the bar - she is awesome! This place makes outstanding coffee in the morning - no need to find a Starbucks. Even though the hotel is just a block or 2 from major nightlife, the rooms are very quiet. Lots of restaurants, breweries and night clubs in walking distance. Only downsides are that the bathroom was uncomfortably tiny (think sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time tiny) and there is no elevator here. Be prepared to hoof it up the stairs,.
