Overall it was a very cute place and the lobby is charming, some parts of the property might need a bit of updating. We had some issues with the heat; we were in the separate building up the hill from the lodge. Although a very nice maintenance man came and adjusted it, it was either blasting hot and extremely loud, or completely off and quite cold. Probably just a very old system that could use updating. Probably not much insulation in the building.

Stay clear of this place
I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations set by the online reviews and photos. After driving 5.5 hours, I was hoping for a relaxing stay, but I was quite disappointed. First, the parking lot is not paved and has no lighting, which made dragging my luggage through gravel in the dark challenging. The photos online also didn’t accurately reflect the actual hotel. I opted for an "upgrade" and stayed in Cottage 1 but was immediately disappointed upon arrival. The walls were so thin that I could hear every footstep from the floor above, every toilet flush, and even conversations from guests in the nearby hot tub as if they were in the same room. I reserved the hot tub before arriving, but after using it, I could not get rid of the overwhelming chlorine smell, even after 3 showers. It became so bad that I couldn't sleep, compounded by the constant noise from the AC unit outside my room that went off every few minutes. I raised my concerns with the front desk, but they didn't seem particularly concerned. I received a text about someone coming to fix the toilet, which was not even the issue I reported. Ultimately, I decided to check out early and move to a different hotel, as this was far from the relaxing experience I had hoped for. While I appreciate that the GM reached out and refunded the upgrade, it felt like too little, too late.

Second stay here - in the quiet season. Nice, fun hotel. Only downside was that the bar wasn’t open while we were there (Monday/Tuesday) - could imagine it being great fun when Stowe gets busy. Rooms are decent - though could do with a little more easy maintenance to kick them up a notch (like the baseboard heaters falling off).

FGL was great! The rooms are a bit small but they are clean and adequate. The bed was very comfortable. The lounge area was unique and relaxing, a real fun spot to enjoy a glass of wine. The hotel is also close to everything. Definitely check out The Bench which is right across the street, fantastic food! Aiden at FGL is phenomenal! Professional, helpful and a Bear whisperer!😉. Highly recommend
