Lovely place sitting in a the very lovely town of Woodstock. Town is walkable and there is a grocery store across the street from the hotel. The room was very nice, King bed and a big window view out back of the river and mountains beyond. Staff is very nice and accommodating. There's a fridge in the room and the room was very clean. TV as well. Would definitely stay there again.

The location was amazing, right on the river and walkable to downtown. We arrived early and were given a lunch suggestion that was delicious and then were booked into a large corner room. Staff was nice, room and cleaning staff were nice. Would highly recommend.

"My stay was absolutely perfect! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort - they had a bonfire to enjoy I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Woodstock

A gorgeous property. Loved all of the outdoor seating and the river view. The staff were amazing. Loved how close you were to the restaurants and shops. Would absolutely stay here again and am very sad we weren't staying for longer.

The hotel room had beautiful views of the river. Renovated, clean and pretty. Parking was a challenge when we arrived later at night on a Saturday. I would stay there next time we tho to Woodstock. Easy walk to town too.

Quaint with a cozy firepit
Enjoyed our stay despite arriving later than planned. Manager was helpful with helping with registration. The hotel is quaint and we loved the fire pit by the river.

We loved our relaxing stay at the Shire! Our room had beautiful views overlooking the river, we heard the cows & geese talking & could hear the river- so wonderful!! Staff treated us well, friendly at check in & out. No safety grab handles in the shower/tub. Good quality soaps & towels. Fireplace made the room so cozy! Appreciated the hot water option so I could have my hot tea that didn’t taste like coffee from a keurig! Just overall a fantastic place to stay!

Only stayed 1 night but that view to wake up to in the morning...priceless!! The Shire was great in keeping communication with me before and up to our stay, especially since they have limited front desk hours. Would stay here again, definitely.

Was very clean, and convenient to downtown, but no extras at all, had to go to the grocery store to get water, was very noisy, no cups in the bathroom, no chairs on the balcony….for the price we paid, we expected a lot more

We paid for a premium queen with a river view and our room only faced the river on 1.5 sides. We had a great view of the parking lot and one of the guest fire pits though. If you are looking for a hotel in walking distance to town, this will work for you. Just be mindful that if you pay for a premium room you might get an standard view that they are pawning off as premium so they can charge more. Also, don't expect room service. In the 3 nights we were there we didn't receive any room service. Overall, it suited our needs for our vacation but we were not enamored and felt we were ripped off when we saw our room.

Property is in a great location and is walkable to dining and shopping. There is a grocery store across the street also. Rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. The only complaint is that our room was not ready until 4:00, an hour past checkin time.
