Rustic Inn with comfortable beds
Sagebrush is a quaint little Inn that is our usual choice for stays while in Taos. The rooms are rustic, yet clean and the beds are super comfortable. There is no free breakfast, but the restaurant offers a good breakfast at a decent price.

The grounds were beautiful but there was a lot of deferred maintanance on the property. The stairs to the second floor were unsafe, with handrails that were too wide and full of slivers to grip. The bathroom tile was cracked and missing a lot of grout. The bed was very hard. I would not recommend this facility.

Stay anyplace but here!!!
Do not stay at this hotel, you will be disappointed. Check in took 40 minutes due to inability of staff to effectively find rooms for patrons waiting at desk. I realize that this is a low paying job and probably thankless on most days but a trained staff who smile, greet guests, make polite conversation and eye contact goes a long way. Otherwise it feels like ineptitude and a complete lack of manners. Once we were in the room I was horrified by the filth that was everywhere. I feel like the toothpaste spit from guest before me was still on the faucet. Floors dirty, outlets coated with the detritus of decades, lint and grime on pretty much everything. This was not the hotel or experience I had hoped for. Very disappointing Sagebrush Inn...I had such high hopes for Taos and my dreams were dashed right away by your lack luster greeting and dirty secrets.

Very Cute
This hotel had one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in in a long time! The room was cute but could have used some up keep (like the lights were out in the bathroom), but overall, it was a great stay!

We like to stay in the suites. 2 beds 2 baths. beautiful grounds Pets ok, Music every night, ambiance in bar or patio wonderful. Historical hotel, awesome New Mexico Adobe architecture. Needs updating, though. Lamp shades torn, curtains torn, old carpet, lumpy pillows. Mattresses comfy, staff excellent

Dirty, old, wouldn’t stay again
We had 2 rooms booked for 3 nights. It was so gross that we left after 2 nights. The hallways leading to the rooms have dirty, unkept carpet. The back doors to the building don’t lock so I don’t know why they even have the keycard entry. In the first room, the door didn’t properly shut. We would have to slam & push on it to close it. The carpets are nasty & the stains on the couches made us not even want to sit or put our belongings on it. The second room smelled like sewer. The sink constantly ran, the shower didn’t drain so we’d have to stand in old water, & the toilet flushed so loudly we couldn’t flush it at night or it would wake everyone up. The carpet was gross, there was a hole in the wall by the tv/dresser, dried hairs caked on the bathroom wall, the box spring was covered in a white sheet and you could see dust & dirt on it. The mattresses were super uncomfortable & the pillows were lumpy, BUT again it was the couch & chairs with the random nasty stains that made you not want to put your stuff on it. I thought the architecture of the building was beautiful and the string lights of the restaurant patio. We ate at the restaurant and it was expensive. We watched as the cooks dropped food and still served it to people. The pool says it closes at 9 but they will kick your kids out before 9 just bc they want to close it early! The employee said the pool should be heated but it wasn’t. Losing money was way better than staying in a nasty, unkept hotel for another night.

This hotel is in need of significant renovations. The furniture is old and beat up. The sheets were threadbare. There were holes in the drywall. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. They kept everything as low- budget as possible (tiny soaps, super thin TP, etc.). Very disappointing stay. Would not recommend.
