We arrived and it was a very grand hotel, but then I was disappointed as I specifically informed them of my walking difficulties, and we were put in Room 36. The walk was horrific for me as I have Spondylitis, and am in constant pain when walking. My husband informed Reception and was informed that there was only Double bedrooms available. The hotel was very dated, and could do with a makeover to refresh everything. I felt like the bedding was damp on my bed which was situated near the outside exterior, and then checked and no mattress protector

Nice but …
The hotel looks super cool and the interior is quite quirky which was fun but the room was DATED. They need to refurbish the rooms and get rid of the carpets.

Nice hotel
Arrive early evening, no one on reception, reception appeared and said give me a minute and disappeared again, turns out she had go for bar supplies, and left me standing there. 5 minutes later she reappeared and checked me in which took 2 minutes. Otherwise the stay was excellent.

Just missed the mark.
The reception was lovely friendly staff, the bar and restaurants looked beautiful. The room we stayed in the Brooke suit, very big and huge lovely windows but however, it was old and dated, thread bear carpets, the couch had also seen better days and the curtains were very very faded. The four poster bed has lost two of its posts, there were stains on the walls, also mould and staines on the ceiling where at some point it leaked. The bathroom was lovely and great shower and bath, but the cracked sink and mould again let it down. The bed was very comfy and towels and linen were clean. We had breakfast included and it also was a little disappointing felt we were at a budget hotel nothing jumped out typical help yourself breakfast but not a wide selection, and the two restaurants staff seemed to be other wise occupied and not approachable. For what you expect and pay for a fancy hotel it missed the mark and it’s a shame it could be such a lovely place just needs TLC.
Two and a half poster bed
Seen better days
Mould and stains all down the wall
Thread bear carpets and that’s just one of many hole.

It’s ok, with little other choice ne Macclesfield.
Nice hotel, room clean but decor was dated - mid70’s vibe. Bathroom was more up to date. Breakfast adequate - weird scrambled egg rather than fried and sausage was but grim, but otherwise good value.

Very uncomfortable in hot weather
I don't normally write reviews but here felt I had to. It was a very hot day - mid-20s Celsius and when I went to my top floor room the room it was hot to the point of feeling like a sauna. The window was locked shut and there was no aircon. The staff at the desk told me the maintenance team had left (even though it was only about 5pm) and therefore could not be opened but offered a small fan. I argued this would not lower the temperature but just blow the hot air around. I took this option as it was all that was available but in the middle of the night I woke up in some discomfort and feeling short of breath due to the heat and the fact the room had stayed hot due to no fresh air source. I resorted to opening the corridor fire escape door and my room door just to make it bearable

It's OK I guess...... !
Hotel is a bit run down - needs a good spruce up / redecoration. To fair as it was only £70 per night this might explain why. Staff were very friendly - no issues there. Food was OK - (mash was cold)

Poor!!!!
Sadly we tried contacting ting the hotel by phone with no response nor anyone answering when we made multiple calls! Just got cut off or it rang out! Bed was really uncomfortable Shower was far from hot! Fire alarm went of at 6.30 on the Sunday and no remarks from the staff. Seems they’d had their phones removed! How can people be expected to contact a hotel when they have no phones! Sadly not very happy!

Room tired and roasting
In check in i had to stand for over 5 minutes before someone came to see me, despite 3 members of staff walking past me without acknowledgement. The room was tired and dated and the bed was old and uncomfortable. The temperature was unbareable and when i asked the two members of staff that i found sitting around downstairs, they said its the heating is on a timer so just open the window. The heating stayed on full all night, in June. It was awful. The matress was old and the springs made loads of noise and we got very little sleep.
