You get what you pay for
Friendly staff and convenient location. Worn down facilities and could be cleaner. Pet friendly, but £10 charge per night for this which wasn’t clear when booking. Parking was next ti the hotel but almost impossible to find a spot. As expected for £45 per night, can’t expect much.

Needs an urgent Fire Safety course
Fire alarm went off at 2am- only a handful of people went downstairs and the man at the desk just shooed us back upstairs with his hand instead of saying anything or assembling at the fire point. Very comfy beds though, and huge TV. No drinking water in the room, so I had to go downstairs and ask at the bar to refill a bottle, or boil the kettle and let it cool overnight. No temperature control on the rooms and it was too warm for me, no internet on the TV or on any device without paying £7 per day PER device.

First morning woken by sirens from 15 police cars, people tasered in the reception and arrested. Third day police arrested person for fighting. 4 night disturbed by security alarms sounding for an hour from 02.00 hours .... no sleep after this, staff in the morning said ( with a smile ) people visited hotel and smashed all the security panels on many floors ..... breakfast time disturbed and swamped by huge coach load taking over dining room in a disorderly way ............. whatever the price it is very risky to stay at the Britannia ............. sadly ....

Convenient Cheap Hotel
The hotel is perfectly situated for if you are staying over to catch an early morning flight as we did but if you’re looking for a nice up to date hotel, it’s not the one. It’s very dated and needs lots of improvement, everywhere has cracks and the lift looks like it’s falling apart and tried to be fixed with gorilla glue. The rooms smell nice but look like they’re still in the 70s/80s and the cart park is terrible and overcrowded. The best part I would say is the reception area as they have a dining space, bar and sports channels but that’s about it. The women on reception were helpful too
