I’d booked an extra bed for my 10 yr daughter,I was allocated a single room with double bed only. The toilet was disgustingly dirty We stayed for a week at various places in Scotland the breakfast here was worst of all the places despite being the expensive of all the stays we’ve done in Scotland No value for money unfortunately for us here.

The locations is great, right on the lake with it's stunning views. Staff are friendly and attentive. The meal options at evening were slightly limited due to the time of year we went, so didn't eat there at the evening, but we did have lunch which was really nice. Rooms are big, albeit furniture in our room was a bit dated and showing signes of usage. Spa area with pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room was nice and relaxing. Plenty of seating areas with log / coal fired and the bar is nice with log fire.

Stayed in the hotel before with family. The room we stayed in wasn’t great, very run down and need of repair. The carpets grippers were on show, paint work untidy, bunk bed in need of replacement. However the children loved the pool and the food is very good which makes up for it. Also the games room closes at 7pm which is a shame as the children really wanted to have a game of pool after our meal and we were told it was shut. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent stay. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Food was a good standard and the highlight was the swimming pool. Room was clean with a great bathroom, also nice welcome pack for kids. Shame it was only one night!

Wonderful room and staff were very friendly, my one and only very small issue if I could even call it one would be to install an area for people to sit outside even in the rain. Would of been nice to have enjoyed a cigar after dinner but rained none stop 😆 Beautiful hotel and staff couldn’t do enough, would definitely visit again and recommend.

I booked two nights for my girlfriend birthday and we had a lovely time, she had been to Windermere before but her stay made this time her best, the spa had everything we needed and the conservatory area faccina the lake was mesmerising. It also came with breakfast included which provided top quality ingredients, the room was as described and allowed us to rest peacefully. I would really go back again !

Lovely Lakeside stay
Despite some of the negative reviews, we found this hotel perfectly acceptable. Room was clean and comfy, hotel itself was well kept. We had dinner in the brasserie one evening, we couldn't fault it. Tasty and freshly cooked. The spa was good, the area was clean and tidy. It could do with a freshen up, pool side, but that's a minor issue. We really appreciated the little touch of a birthday card and bar of chocolate, which was left in the room, as it was my partner's birthday during our stay. We both said we wouldn't hesitate to return, albeit out of season, to really enjoy the hotel in a quieter way. Don't be put off by negative reviews, go and see for yourself!
