It doesn't take long to get to the heart of Ushizu from Chagokoro no Yado Warakuen and Furuyu Onsen Oncri (although with beds as cosy as these, you shouldn't be surprised if you end up running a bit behind schedule!)

Located 25 kilometres southwest of Ushizu, it's where you'll find the Shida-yaki Pottery Factory Museum and the Saga Prefectural Space & Sciense Museum. If you'd like to spend a night or two in Ureshino, consider the Wataya Besso and Ryokan Oomuraya. 30 kilometres to the northwest of Ushizu you can also stay at Karatsu, which is home to the Karatsu Royal Hotel and Ryokan Wataya. Sasebo is situated 45 kilometres away from Ushizu and has a population of 240,000. When you're in the area, you'd be crazy if you didn't have a look at Tenjin Park, Miuracho Catholic Church and the Maritime Self-Defense Force Sasebo Museum. If you decide to hang out for a while, keep the good time rolling at Yumiharidake Lookout and the Kujukushima Zoological and Botanical Garden.
