About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

The Perch offers panoramic, breathtaking, long range views in a beautifully appointed home.

This, ONE-LEVEL, three bedroom and three bath aerie on a ridge-lot feels “perched” above the clouds with over 100 degree dramatic, long-range layered panoramas of the surrounding mountains and valley. With one of the best views available, this beautiful home boasts two covered porches, offering you the option to enjoy your morning coffee or a sunset dinner. If dining indoors, you’ll enjoy the magnificent view from the dining room. For an added luxury, a solarium is available for relaxing or dining as well. Most interior rooms are oriented to take advantage of the spectacular views. Though you are “perched” in the mountains and away from all the hustle and bustle, you’ll enjoy modern conveniences and amenities at this home which includes cable TV, central A/C, dishwasher and WiFi. For ambiance and warmth there’s a custom stone gas log fireplace and beautiful vaulted ceilings with natural exposed wood beams.

Less than a 20 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tony’s Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle, as featured on History Channels “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 15 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

This home is about a 35 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Harrah's Casino in Cherokee (even if you do not gamble it has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).

A little more than 40 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estates & Winery, several micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 15 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.

Approximately, 45 minutes away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 20 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood).

The approach to this vacation rental is a paved mountain road with a moderate incline nearing the driveway. We advise during the Fall and Winter Season (more specifically during inclement weather) guests use an all-wheel drive or 4 wheel drive for accessibility.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, which features a fireplace. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
This smoke-free vacation home features snowboarding nearby, hiking/biking trails nearby, and kayaking nearby. Recreational activities include rafting nearby.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

The Perch was great!

The house was on one level which was perfect for seniors. The road was a typical mountain road and was very well maintained. The view from the front porch was spectacular. We loved our stay at The Perch.

Perfect Porch

The Perch has the perfect porch for enjoying the NC mountains in summer. Included is a beautiful view of the valley and mountains. On either side of the porch are butterfly bushes that provided a constant flutter of swallowtails. We really hope to come back next year.

Vacation Fun!

Our stay in the home was great. No real complaints. I would recommend that the landscaping be addressed for aesthetic purposes. And, if at all possible, include garbage disposal. We would visit again.

Great place, great views, great time!

We rented the house based on the views (which were fantastic), and were equally impressed by the well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and overall experience. We had one small window of time where we lost the internet signal, but both the rental agency and the tech support from the provider were incredibly responsive and had the issue fixed within minutes. I think we ate all of our meals on the front porch with such an expansive view. We had a great time and will definitely rent the property again.

The Perch

Great views but obstructed by overgrown vegetation. Nice size for family gatherings. Overall well maintained but few small things need fixing for e.g. broken screen doors. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
