I recently had the pleasure of staying at James Cook, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and modern amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, and the view from the window was simply breathtaking. The staff were genuinely welcoming and attentive, always going above and beyond to make sure I felt at home. Whether it was the warm greeting at check-in, their swift assistance with any queries, or the helpful recommendations for local attractions, their service was outstanding. The location was another highlight – conveniently situated next to Wellington Cable Car (able to pass thru the hotel to Lambton Quay), making it easy to explore the area. Overall, James Cook exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and hassle-free stay. I look forward to returning in the future!

1. Check-in staff wasn’t helpful. 2. Carpet in the room was quite old and dirty. 14th floor ambiance was outdated. 3. Made a big issue about parking, in and out privileges. Very inconvenient. 4. Since I had to leave early in the morning to catch ferry, staff had imposed restrictions on breakfast, forced me into take-away breakfast only option instead of full buffet breakfast. The box contained just fruits and juice. As promised, did not give any credit for parking.

Difficult to access hotel on arrival as so many taxis so ended up not getting into hotel carpark and then paying extra for parking! Some staff not as friendly or professional as I would expect from any hotel.
