Wonderful hotel
Beautiful location, surrounded by a great golf course. Rooms were well appointed, very clean and comfortable, with nice extra touches (Molton Brown toiletries, bathrobes etc). Good dinner and wonderful breakfast with quality ingredients and a good range of choices. Excellent service and lovely staff - we returned for a second night a few days later and a welcome back card and gift was waiting in our room.

This is a very elegant hotel. Everything screams luxury from the decor in the reception area, bars, restaurants and even the rest rooms (Molton Brown products). Double Rooms are spacious with sittings area, large queen bed and high end bathroom with walk-in shower. Again Molton Brown products & dressing gowns. I will say the lighting either side of the bathroom mirror was excellent for applying makeup. No air conditioning but the large fan in each room is adequate if the weather is warm. No fridge or mini bar but the tea & coffee are Taylor’s of Harrogate. Staff very friendly and most helpful. Beautiful grounds to walk and Aldwark village has a mapped ramble which is just outside the Estate. The hotel is set within a golf course, manicured to perfection with lakes and fountains, seen from the outside terrace with comfy patio seating. Breakfast over looking the golf course was excellent. A menu with all cooked options from full English to Smoked Haddock & poached eggs, there was something for everyone’s taste and all tasted amazing. Options for vegetarian & vegan too. Cold buffet was fresh and unlimited. The leisure & Spa was being refurbished during our stay but if it’s at the same standard as the hotel then it should not disappoint.

Lovely peaceful stay. Great service and room very clean. Only downside of staying in the peak of summer is that we personally found the duvet too thick so despite the air con (which didn’t go below 18 degrees) being on all night we found it too hot to sleep properly.

Highly recommended.
Beautiful place set in idyllic Yorkshire countryside. Fabulous room, clean, and of a very high standard, highly recommended. Only downside is the prices in some of the restaurants which are very expensive. Overall though a fabulous stay.

Lovely hotel in a splendid setting.
Visited this hotel several times previously for long weekends and we always have a nice break, The hotel is in transition at present the latest being the spa and leisure facility being updated and therefore not in use. Room was good with all the facilities you would expect from a hotel of this stature, including a comfy bed. The hotel is set in a brilliant location surrounded by the countryside views that you never get fed up with. Food in the restaurant was also good, breakfast can other be from the Buffett or ordered from the menu. Staff outstanding as ever, pleasant and courteous always happy to help. Bunkers bar which is a separate area for the golfers is also pleasant to have a drink or eat in, especially in the afternoon sun. The one big negative for this hotel is the bar prices that are very expensive. The biggest winners are the pub in the village, which is full of hotel guests in the evening.

The day before I was looking for spa treatments and using the facilities, but when we arrived the pool and spa was closed. This was very disappointing as I had taken my wife for a surprise night away for our anniversary.

Perfect getaway
Hotel and staff faultless. Breakfast was amazing. Prices in the club house on a bit of the high side for what you got in regards to food and drink but besides that was good. Would stay again.

Great stay
Excellent location. Only issue was lack of food available on the second evening due to staff shortages. ( not really what you want to hear when you are hungry). The bathroom was lovely, however it was a little high to climb into the shower, bath and someone who was suffering with a bad a leg found it hard going, also getting out of the bath/shower there was no hand rail to support.
