Menaldum, only 20 kilometres to the northeast, is renowned for Planetarium and the Het Princessehof. You'll kick yourself if you don't check them out.

Think about taking a picnic basket full of goodies so you can enjoy a leisurely lunch by the water at Nes Beach or Callantsoog Beach.

You'll find some pleasant natural attractions not too far from Zurich. Why not travel 35 kilometres to De Boschplaat? Alternatively, explore some of nature's finest artwork at Centrum De Noordwester, 30 kilometres away.

Wild about sports? Then look up the event schedule at Abe Lenstra Stadium, located 40 kilometres to the southeast in Heerenveen.

Pingjum, 2 kilometres to the east, is known for Bolsward Martinikerk and Bolsward Stadhuis. Why not find your way there and see these popular attractions? Or, you could head to Kimswerd, 4 kilometres to the northeast of Zurich, for the Museum Martena and the Kaatsmuseum.
