Property was great for us. Three of us stayed in an apartment with a kitchen, including dishwasher, so for one night out of the 3 we stayed we could cook a full dinner. Other nights we went out. Apartment was clean and comfortable and we will stay again on future trips.

Place was nicely renovated but housekeeping was terrible. Crumbs on kitchen top and sofa. Ants on kitchen counter. Left over water in kettle. And masses of HAIR in the shower!! It’s a shame cos the place was nice and spacious but cleanliness zero.

Our room was newly renovated and well laid out. Having the toilet seperate to the main bathroom is particular handy when staying with kids. The kitchen was very well stocked with pans, pots and utensils. The night manager was so lovely when we booked in, and genuinely made us feel so welcome. Some other areas did look quite tired, and I don't know if all rooms were as updated as ours. It was very close to most of the tourist attractions, we had a great stay.

Quiet friendly affordable inner south stay
The apartments section of Forrest hotel and apartments has become my preferred accommodation in CBR. Loved the quiet location and proximity to key places in the inner south - Manuka, Kingston and the lake.

For the price, Forrest Hotel and Apartments was fine. But I would not call this a 4 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It was not clear to me that I needed to request a ground floor room since I did not want to be using stairs with an infant and a pram, so I needed to move rooms after I checked in. I was surprised that I wasn't given a ground floor room in the first place considering my booking clearly included a baby, or that the website didn't highlight the fact that there were no lifts to the second floor. Once moved I needed to be moved again as the second room I was given did not contain the amenities I had paid for - namely a microwave. It was suggested that I use the microwave in reception, but that would obviously have been impossible when needing to heat up bottles at 2am. So I was moved again. I appreciated that my needs were eventually accommodated but I was surprised I needed to explain these issues. The rooms themselves were very basic, bordering on small. The Queen bed was painfully soft with zero support, and the sheets were too small for the bed so as soon as you untucked the duvet cover the mattress was uncovered on both sides. It also took 3 days to get the soap dispenser in the bathroom filled, even though I left a post-it note attached to the empty dispenser each day. There is also a bit of a fight for parking, which I wasn't expecting. The location of the hotel, however, was great.

Very close to art gallery and other sights to see by car. It’s a motel style place where you park the car and the room door is in front of you. Mattress topper was lumpy night 1 but night 2 it settled to be more comfy. Pillows were high. Bathroom has all you need including tissues, hairdryer and great water pressure. There’s a microwave in the reception office for guests use until 9pm. Room had bowls and cutlery too. Room was spacious. Overall good value. Clean.
