Seapoint - Coopers Beachfront

Location is an important consideration when selecting a beach house for a Far North stay. Everyone has a wish-list….A bit of elevation above the beach, stairs down to the sand and sea, huge entertaining deck with shade would be nice.

Seapoint is a character laden, North facing, charming, much loved, clean, family holiday house that has had a birthday. Re-appointed furnishings and décor. New in 2020, a large, part covered deck that reaches out towards the bay, feels like being on the bridge of a ship. At the edge of the clipped front lawn are a private flight of steps that run down to the beach.

Great lay-out for an extended or 2 family stay. Living downstairs, sleeping upstairs. 2 large bedrooms have picture windows featuring the bay. In both rooms, a bed for 2 and in the corner a single bed with a roll out trundler bed beneath. In the 3rd bedroom, bunk-beds for 2. For those that would struggle with the steepish flight of internal stairs, there are options, mention this when booking. The kitchen is modelled after the galley of an ocean cruising yacht. There’s only room for 1 or 2 but surround benches, a serving bar and having everything within arms reach seems to be a chef’s delight.

A pair of kayaks and life-jackets for guests’ use. Large modern BBQ, off-street parking, new heatpump. Freshly laundered crisp cotton hotel grade linen is included. Enjoy a drink on the deck (bring Nespresso capsules) and through a gap in the Pohutukawa, keep an eye on those making sandcastles, playing cricket, writing messages to you in the sand or swimming down on the beach.

Coopers Beach is a favourite destination for people the world over for good reason. It is one of the sheltered beaches within the greater Doubtless Bay and has next to no rips or pounding waves; a safe family swimming beach. Shellfish can be dug for on the low tide and fish caught from the kayaks on any tide (bring tackle). The kilometre of Coopers Beach has 200 year old Pohutukawa overhanging the sand; all day dappled or full ‘on the beach’ shade.

Seapoint is ideally located to enjoy the many handy Far North attractions and those further afield. Historic Mangonui Village, Karikari Peninsula, Ahipara, drive the 8 kms of sand on Tokerau Beach if you’re so inclined. Day trips to Cape Reinga, Bay of Islands, Hokianga or say “Hi” to Tane Mahuta. He is over 2000 years old, a seedling when Jesus was around.

You can feel the laughter and good times from summers past in the walls of Seapoint. The large new deck has massively enhanced this already beaut beach-front property. If the thought of creating a holiday that you talk about fondly for decades to come appeals; Seapoint is a jolly good start.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private patio. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like onsite parking.

Needs a few tweaks.
Awesome view /location and good access to the beach. The house wasn't as clean as expected, and there was limited comfy seating in the lounge, we had to use outdoor bean bags inside. Traffic from highway behind the house was very noisy and trucks shake the house. Quite expensive for what you get. No dishwasher and only 1 rubbish bag provided for family for a week stay. The washing machine only did hot washes and there was no drier. This all made the holiday not as relaxing as we would have liked.

Great Views - Tired House
Disclaimer: Our party is not from New Zealand and we traveled a very long distance to stay here. Thoughts on this home may be different from those who are just a day's drive away. The location of this house is outstanding. The lovely deck allows plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the vistas, whether it be the bay or the night sky. Steps down to the beach make it easy to access the water, which is wonderful! Outside is where everyone wants to be, day or night. However, this sweet house needs some TLC. It's functional and has some nice touches, but overall, it feels tired. Some things in the kitchen were not clean, such as a couple of cutting boards and some glasses high up, which may have been out of reach for some time. The downstairs of the home is quaint with some decorative furniture, but the home overall could use some love. The upstairs has nice beds, but white on white with little color feels more institutional than like a home. The house has so much potential to be outstanding in and of itself, in addition to the amazing views and location. I would recommend this stay to a family (or larger group of people) if you're looking for a rustic beach stay. I would also recommend to the owners to do more updating here and there, and keep adding more color and charm throughout the house. It's in a great place - it deserves the TLC worthy of its location.

Great stay. Great views.
Very happy. Great property. Views to die for. Needs a bit of internal work. Bit noisy with SH10 right behind, but that's the only gripe. Would recommend.

Coopers Beach with beach access and a great view
Wonderful location. Very comfy bed. Wouldn’t want to have 10 or 11 people staying wiht only one shower although it does have 2 separate toilets with their own hand basins. As a couple we thoroughly enjoyed the space. Need to be aware that the interns stairs are steep and you need to take care. The steps down to the beach at the bottom of the lawn are very convenient to pop down for a dip when you fancy. Overall we had a great stay and the deck was great you could be in the sun or shade as the mood took you.

Perfect summer location
We had a great time at Coopers beach. The country house is very well equipped and has stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The nearby town Mangonui is very charming and has some good dinner options. Greeting and communication with the host was excellent
