The staff was wonderful, the confusion in reaching/ returning to room due to construction very frustrating also, it would've been great to be oriented to how the power works, ex..the entire power grid to the room was turned off everyday after cleaning. Room would be fridged upon return.. Americans do not function in this manner. Power is aways present, no steps needed.

When arrived told we had been upgraded to a bigger room but would be a smaller bed than we booked. Room was abit bigger than a usual hotel room but carpet did have stains and stains in shower and was poo marks in bottom of toilet, wasn’t bad enough for me to complain to staff. Staff were always happy and smiling and the communal areas were nice and clean

The staff were lovely and helpful and it was a great location in the centre of Edinburgh. There was some work being done on the building (outside the establishment's control) but it couldn't be heard from our room. Would recommend and happily stay here again!

Pleasant Stay.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful on our arrival, even though we were an hour early. The gentleman who secures luggage also showed us to the restaurant area whilst we waited for our room to be ready. Very helpful and informative, explained that the hotel is being renovated enabling a direct route from the train station. Overall, everyone was helpful. Food was tasty and to a good standard however the buffet breakfast items such as bacon, sausages, eggs had cooled, not sure the hot plate was working properly. Bedroom clean, but decor becoming tired, needs revamp. Comfortable beds! Lovely overnight stay and the people who worked there were helpful, friendly and patient!

Stairs in the room corridors, difficult to manage with suitcases (consider building ramps instead, as I've experienced in other hotels). Room/bathroom was roomy & nice but noise from adjoining room was unreasonable and mattress was very hard.

At first we were unable to find it due to the construction and they don’t have visible sign, but once we found it the staff was great, everything was in walking distance, breakfast was great. Would of stayed another night but they were booked.

We were not notified of interior and exterior construction. One morning woke to Jack hammering. Long waits at elevators. Lamp in room didn’t work Tv remote didn’t work Location was great. Hopefully construction will be complete soon.

Getting around in the hotel was challenging. We had to go to various levels and long hallways with many direction changes to get to our room. Restaurant food was very plain, and service was slow. Lobster Bisque was very salty, and the fish and chips was probably the least tasty of the 10 plus places thar we had fish and chips. Beds were very firm and not very comfortable. On a positive note, the staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. .

IT was underconstruction, cold, you had to wait long for the breakfast because the waiter only seats 1 person at a time. there was a huge line. very expensive for the that you could only use tha half of the hotel and loud.
