Property could do with the décor being updated. Bedroom was spacious but pillows were rock hard and tea/coffee making facilities very basic compared with what we have experienced at other B&B's. Dining room and immediate outdoor seating area off the dining room was somewhat uninviting (cob webs under the eves and furniture was old). Breakfast average. Main lounge area had doors closed and although you were able to use it, with it being closed and lights off, it didn't feel inviting to enter the area. Telling your guests to remember to turn off the lights because electricity is very expensive in NZ, isn't something you would expect to read in the in-room information booklet. We have travelled extensively overseas and it is the first time we have ever read such a thing. Not a very welcoming thing to say, given we are paying guests. Diana was friendly and chatty which was nice, but we will stay elsewhere next time.
