I can’t tell if this is a result of the new Accor ownership, but Swissotel unfortunately seems to have fallen down a bit from where it used to be. Still a good mid-tier choice with excellent location, but the morning buffet felt a bit like Hunger Games, hallways often smelled badly and while pleasant, the heavily non-Japanese staff don’t seem to bring the same world class service you’d find at some other places

Lovely stay
We stayed here for one night and were very happy with the experience. Hotel is centrally located, has comfortable beds, and very helpful staff. We loved that they emailed us a guide to Osaka before our stay. We also greatly appreciated them providing a kettle in our room and extra blankets. Only issue is the water tended to get everywhere when we showered because they had one of those glass panel showers where half of it was still open, but that's quite minor.

Great Namba Hotel with an Indoor Pool
We really enjoyed this hotel, and it was our second time staying here. The first time was actually 15 years ago, and it is even better now. The entire hotel is upscale, the service is excellent, and the rooms are modern and well appointed There are at least two more things worth mentioning about this hotel: 1) It is directly linked to the Namba Nankai railway station, which makes it tremendously convenient. You can follow the signs right out the train station to the hotel entry and 2) there is a fitness area with a large lap pool. So, if you enjoy swimming laps like we do, this is a great hotel choice. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if you are interesting in staying in the Namba area of Osaka. It is just convenient to everything.

The Swiss Select Queen is very small. The toilet has barely any space to put toiletries. The location is 5 star though. Super convenient to the Nankai Express. Other than that, the room rate doesn’t commensurate the room quality.

We got a really old room (there are renewed but ours was really old. The room was dark, old, doesn’t looked clean, didn’t changed the towels, the lights tilted all the time. The wifi was really intermittent, the bed is old and not comfortably. The location is great, just next to Namba station, walking distance of Dotombori. The good thing we got our room as soon as we arrived.

Our stay here was overall enjoyable, with a few standout moments and minor drawbacks. The customer service was exceptional, with multilingual agents who made everything so much easier. They also had a computer available for use, which was a lifesaver for me during the trip. Breakfast was fantastic, offering a mix of Western and Japanese selections. Our son especially loved the ice cream station—a fun and unexpected treat! The view from the dining area was stunning, particularly at sunset, adding a lovely touch to the mornings. The room itself was a bit of a letdown—small and outdated—but the hotel’s location more than made up for it. Being close to Dotonbori and plenty of shopping spots made exploring Osaka a breeze. We’d likely return, but next time, we’d definitely opt for a better room to make the experience even more enjoyable. For the location, service, and breakfast alone, it’s worth considering!
