My stay at the Chelsea Hotel Toronto was okay overall. The location is very convenient, close to many attractions and public transportation, which made getting around easy. However, the rooms were just average... a bit outdated and not very soundproof, so it could get noisy at times. The shower pressure was also quite weak, which was a little disappointing. Not a bad stay, but nothing special either.

There needs to be more staff to assist with check-in and checkout. More seating in the lobby also. The lobby is like a train station. Hotel is good, rooms are a nice side, good amenities. Just needs a bit better service.

Property and majority of the staff were amazing but safe was opened by someone. Everything inside was still there, but definitely not happy about the invasion of privacy or security. Security team did an investigation and basically said it must’ve been us that opened it or left it open, however I know this to be untrue.

The lobby is overcrowded. Not enough staff to serve the guests. One of the clerks suggested I do a self-check in on their self-check in machine. If I am paying over $500 a day for this hotel, I would expect better service than this. The hotel had extremely loud music blasting in the lobby which did not make the place relaxing and made it feel like we were in a bar. There were many people off the street hanging out in the lobby. There was no security for the elevator as guests did not have to tap their hotel card to get entry to a certain floor so that means that anyone off the street could use the elevator to get to the rooms which is poor security. The clerk said there was a washer and dryer but we needed to use coins even though I am paying $500 for the night. But the office did not have quarters and we needed to use quarters. Finally the office got me some quarters and I tried to go to the laundry, but there were no signs telling me how to get to the laundry. When I was finally able to get to the laundry, it was broken and didn't work. The laundry room was in the boys changing room but no sign to indicate where it was. The staff at the front desk and the manager were very unhelpful and didn't want to help me and just wanted to brush me off. The worse hotel I ever stayed at.

Comfortable hotel. Bed was nice and roomy. Their automated check-in machine didn’t produce a working keycard for me. Rather than machines that are broken and a weird robot looming in the lobby, maybe they should have some more people (than one) working reception on a Thursday night. Grounds were pleasant but a bit grimy. Lots of smokers near entrances.

We liked the room but housekeeping came in twice after checkin because the cleaner thought she dropped something. We were just trying to relax after a long drive. Then the place was crawling with loud childre. I had to ask people to quieten their children because it was bananas. The TV reception was poor. And on top it was 750.00 for one night.

I spent only one night at this property and found the staff (front desk, concierge, housekeeping) particularly helpful. I lost my wedding ring on the 5th floor neare the elevator, and could not find it. While I was not, in the end, successful, the people at the reservations desk and in housekpeeping went above expectations to try to locate it for me. The concierge ewas helpful in finding an excellent restaurant (Congee Queen) and in giving directions.
