I checked in with the intention of staying one night to celebrate an anniversary with a friend. We specifically chose your hotel because it advertised an adults-only pool and hot tub. Check-in was smooth, and the room initially appeared satisfactory. Unfortunately, we did not complete our usual bed bug inspection and went directly to the pool and hot tub. To our surprise, the area was overrun with children. As parents ourselves, we understand that facilities may occasionally be opened to families; however, it would have been helpful to be informed of this prior to check-in so we could have adjusted our plans accordingly.
After returning from dinner, while lying in bed, I observed an insect crawling toward me. A Google Lens search confirmed it was a bed bug. Security responded promptly, inspected the room, and provided plastic bags so we could secure our belongings. We were offered a room change; however, given the circumstances, we were not comfortable remaining at the hotel. Our personal items had been exposed, we had nothing alternative to change into, and we ultimately left the hotel at approximately 11:00 p.m. and returned home.
We were advised that someone would contact us the following morning with guidance regarding next steps, including dry cleaning and reimbursement. We To date, we have not been contacted.
