I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, but my last visit was absolutely unacceptable. First, the elevators are not key-enabled, meaning anyone from the street can access guest floors. In a small town, that might not be a big deal, but in downtown Toronto? That’s a serious security concern.
During my stay, the room next door had an unexpected visitor. A man was inside, and another person was banging on the door, shouting for him to open it. The argument escalated with swearing and yelling. They were loud, disruptive, and smoking constantly—even though it was a non-smoking room. The cigarette/joint smoke filled my room, making it hard to breathe. I had to cover my door with a sheet and keep my window open all night, which left my room freezing by morning.
I called security, but they only addressed the noise, not the smoking. And off course, the notice was not effective! So, I imagine they didn't have any follow ups! Eventually, more people joined in. They were partying in the room!!!
The next day, I complained at the front desk, and their response was shocking: “If they pay, they can smoke in the room.” That is completely unacceptable.
On top of that, the mattress was awful, with a huge sag in the middle. The elevators kept breaking down, causing long waits just to get to your room.
Overall, this hotel is poorly managed. They seem to rely on being cheaper than other downtown options, but they clearly don’t care about service or guest experience.
I will never stay here again.
