Beautiful 2 night stay
We had a spectacular 2 night stay over Matariki weekend. Seaside room with stunning views of the well kept grounds. We also had food and drinks from the cafe while sitting out by the pool which was all great and staff were all very accommodating.

Copthorne Bay of Islands needs a major upgrade, housekeeping needs to be retrained and certain staff need to learn the accuracy of the information they provide. Check in for 2pm but had to wait and additional 30minuts due to “housekeeping” needing time to clean. Upon arrival room was not cleaned properly. No tap to drink water or fill up the kettle. Rooms are not sound proof can hear kids running up and down hallways, banging doors, and making noise. However we did enjoy the scenery and two staff members who were absolutely amazing.

Check in and out was seamless. The staff and service was excellent, as was the food. We found the roomexpensive for how budget it was. The soundproofing is virtually non existent, so we had a herd of elephants dancing above us until late at night, and starting again at 6am. Sadly, we found the night nice, but won't make the effort to stay here again.

Was a nice stay we ending up with a different room than we expected due to renovations but was a amazing view. Dinner we book was very nice just very expensive. Breakfast was way better and alot cheaper than dinner. Would definitely go back. Unfortunately they were painted so did smell like paint in hall ways which i didn't like with a young child but didn't smell in rooms which good. Second time going and view is so good would recommend even with the feedback given just wouldn't get dinner again as was alot.

Spa pool is our favourite, room was nice, comfy bed and love the soap fragrance. Not enough parking spaces, had to park on far side away from our room. Wifi was really slow, just used my data.

Quiet location. Very old and tired, in need of a major upgrade. Poor house keeping, room not ready at check in and still waiting for room to be serviced late afternoon the following day

I had been to this hotel many years prior and loved it, so I wanted to treat my children. The breakfast and room service we ate for one dinner was delicious. The kids enjoyed the spa and pools. Unfortunately the hotel looks like it hasn’t had any upgrades since I was there last. The rest I have to say is not as positive, our stay wasn’t relaxing like we expected, our room was close to the pool, a great location I thought, but our deck was used by people to get to the pool - giving us no privacy, there was kids running up and down the halls from 7am - sounding like elephants, housekeeping came into our room at 9am to clean, when we were sleeping, then told me if they didn’t get in they would have their job done by 2pm. The room wasn’t clean, the bed sheet on one bed was dirty, the bathroom needs a good clean, mould removal, there was hair and cob webs behind the door. The sunlight comes in through the shutters as there is no curtains. There seem to be renovations happening which is good, although making it noisy with the tradesmen doing their work (perhaps it would be better to close until they are finished). For the price paid this was really disappointing. I stay in a lot of hotels for business and really wanted to be saying positive things about our stay. I do have some suggestions if the hotel would like to reach out, I didn’t think it was fair to discuss with your staff as they were trying to do a great job.
