The staff really added to this Hotel - very friendly helpful and no problem attitude when we asked for a room switch to have a quieter location. Very comfortable bright Hotel with plus having a pool for relaxation after hitting the city streets.

This hotel is in a prime city center location, making it perfect for exploring the area. The room was clean and spacious, though there were some mold spots in the washroom. It can get a bit loud at night due to its central location, but the friendly staff made the stay enjoyable overall. Ideal if you want to be in the heart of the action!

We had a castle-view balcony room, and while the view was SPECTACULAR, the balcony left a lot to be desired. There were no divider walls between all of the balcony rooms down the entire row, so a guest several rooms down could have potentially walked right onto our balcony. There was also zero furniture on the balcony, so we couldn’t even sit outside to have coffee or just enjoy the sights. There’s no air conditioning in the rooms, and we were there on a very warm day in August, so the room was SWELTERING unless you left the balcony door open—which is less than ideal when anyone down the line of rooms could have walked right in from our balcony. It did not make for a restful night. Beautiful view, nice room, basically unusable balcony.

Absolutely perfect! Location was incredible; walking distance to everything (Fringe festival, Tattoo, food)! Parking was very convenient. Will definitely stay here again!

The location was perfect for walking about and taking in the history. Getting in and out of the shower was extremely difficult due to the height of the bathtub. The room was uncomfortable due to the heat.

We stayed here on our Scotland trip in August 24. We had two nights when we arrived, went to the highlands and came back for two nights before going back home. We had different but nearly identical rooms (just two doors down), both on their second floor (main floor is floor zero). Pool was a nice plus for the kids. The hotel overall is very nice and very conveniently located, everything was walkable for us and Airlink 100 to and from the Airport was an easy 15min walk to its stops (lots of people wheeling luggage around the area). The rooms we were in had two queen sized beds which were on the hard side. These were not just doubles (as listed on the website) which was nice. We had an amazing view of the castle. The cost of this is the noise from the plaza on Grassmarket, which was noticeable even with a closed window. It was actually warm while we were there and there is no AC, so with the window open it was kinda loud. This is just for information purposes was absolutely not a dealbreaker for us. Lots of restaurants nearby, our favourite was Nok’s Kitchen (Thai food), we ate there twice! I recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Hotel was OK, expected much more. The hotel was pretty meh, no ramp to lobby, it didn't look like a hotel. No AC in the rooms, super hot hallways. No water bottles in the rooms, inconvenient bathtub height almost fell twice. Breakfast was terrible. Burnt omelette, coffee terrible, orange juice not natural, sodas extra charge.
