The online photos deceive! The hotel looks like they’re trying to remodel but ran out of money! The rooms were half cleaned.. The walls had discoloration from both paint touch up and prior water damage.. There were holes in the walls of the room and the shower.. The rooms are all exterior and the hallways were looking like they’re deteriorating! They place charges a resort fee of $100 for what reason I’m not sure.. There were also extra hidden charges on the bar fees!

Total ripoff
So I had a trip to Florida to visit family. I was going to have some downtime, so I specifically searched for a hotel with a bar and activities. That's the ONLY reason I chose Opal. When I arrived to the empty hotel I was advised that the bar and comedy club were only open on Saturdays, I had to leave Friday morning. There was no explanation or sympathy from staff, they just reiterated there was nothing going on until after I had to go. I was charged a 20.00 resort fee that wasn't mentioned on the website as well as a 100.00 security deposit (none of which was mentioned in the site. So I get my keycard and walk to my room. The room and entire property is absolutely filthy. I'll share pics, but rusty dirty lamps and fixtures, literal fecal matter smeared on bathroom walls, a literal hole in the floor in bathroom, dirty curtains, tv that boasts 28 local channels, a pool with trash strewn around and ripped and filthy furniture. They never did turnover service on my room after night one, and many other issues! This is the most disgusting place I've ever been, I never felt safe, and there's nothing to justify a "RESORT" fee. Please don't give these scammers your money.

I don’t recommend this hotel to nobody even if it’s just for sleep. I got pictures of when a was in the room and the toilet was leaking water, when I when to reception for a change of room they told me it was booked and I had to wait to the next morning not able to use the restroom all night. The next morning when I went to reception the person that was there at the moment to change me the room it was the same one from the night before and he told me “ I’m sorry about yesterday I was drunk that wasn’t me. Sorry!”

I was not happy with the room. It was really dirty. The blankets the sheets were dirty. The bathroom super dirty I had to use my own towel because the one I got were dirty. I’m sorry to say this, but I really had bad experience and I will not stay there anymore, you guys need to do a lot of cleaning in those rooms those windows the border are so dirty. The AC unit is so dirty. I have to be moved from one room to the other because of the smell of cigarette and weed and it was not the smell was disgusting everywhere. The only thing that was looking nice was the pool everything else was disgusted 👎

This was the WORST place I’ve ever stayed at. They market it as a hotel but it is an extended stay. I felt very unsafe. The condition was horrible. Nothing works, roaches, and a horrible smell. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

The hotel smelled of drugs. The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was fresh urine on the bed, blood mud in the shower, and hair on the floor. The door did not lock, even the metal latch did not catch. There was a flimsy piece of cardboard/particle board used as a wall. I could easily kick my way into the room with little to no effort at all. They refused to refund me which caused me to contact my bank for a charge back. The place is deplorable.

There were stains on the sheets the room door was misaligned so opening and closing the door was a hassle and we noticed a few roaches during our stay.
