Piwakawaka ā Pukawa is a delightfully charming and cosy holiday home near the edge of Lake Taupo.
The house name refers to the Piwakawaka, a friendly native bird known as the Fantail. You will see Fantails flitting from perch to perch in the bush surrounding the house.
Sleeping up to 6 across 2 bedrooms, there's plenty of space for the whole family to relax and unwind in tranquil Pukawa Bay. A retro log cabin feel with wood panelling, Kiwiana art, bright comfy cushions and blankets. Wrap yourself up in a cosy blanket on the couch to sip your morning coffee and listen to a tune on the record player.
The living area flows out onto the large outdoor deck amongst native bush treetops. This is the perfect place to enjoy an evening drink as you listen to birdsong. Fire up the BBQ and enjoy dinner al fresco on the deck!
Only a 5-minute walk to the lake's edge and Pukawa Bay, where you can skip rocks, wander the beach, launch the boat and picnic amongst serene surroundings. There are also 2 kayaks available to paddle the beautiful lake.
After a day of exploring, snuggle up in front of the fireplace with your loved ones.
Holiday bliss awaits right here!!
