Accommodation In New South Wales

In the south eastern part of Australia, New South Wales is a massive state, and one that is simply bursting with fantastic regions to visit. Home to the popular city of Sydney, New South Wales attracts many visitors throughout the year. Although Sydney is a fabulously exciting and interesting city, there is so much more to New South Wales than just this one city … we have some great NSW accommodation all across the state so discover the numerous other great things to see and do. Varied landscapes can be found across NSW, including stunning beaches, dense rainforest, rugged bush, towering mountains and rolling plains.

History New South Wales was the main area of the first British colony within Australia and so as such It’s brimming with historical and cultural sites. NSW is also home to the oldest city in the whole of Australia – Sydney. Before European settlers arrived there were many different Aboriginal tribes across the state, and many have left their mark so there are heaps of Aboriginal carvings and caves where you can see spectacular Aboriginal artwork.

Things to do

Spend time getting to know the friendly state capital of Sydney, seeing the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, relaxing on surfing on the many beautiful fine white sandy beaches, and discovering the city’s many other charms. Enjoy wine tasting and glorious scenery in the Hunter Region and Mudgee, hike in the remote wilderness of the breathtaking Blue Mountains, and combine bush and coast on the South Coast and North Coast. Journey into the Outback and see a completely different way of life in the small mining communities like Broken Hill or the gold rush towns of Bathurst and enjoy adventurous days seeing a host of native flora and fauna with few other souls in sight. Get high – literally – in the Snowy Mountains and be closer to nature in the Northern Rivers’ area and Southern Highlands. Beach bums will love the Central Coast, Shoalhaven, and the gorgeous South Coast. New England offers lots of fun and adventures and Lord Howe Island, which is about 550 kilometres away from the mainland, is also very popular.

Shopping and dining

NSW boasts some terrific shopping spots, especially in the major cities and towns. Unless you venture into the heart of the Outback, you will never be too far away from shops selling the basics. The state is known for its great food, with a combination of top class restaurants, which are of special note in Milford and Orange along with charming country pubs which you’ll enjoy everywhere Foodies should try and plan a visit to Riverina, the state’s food bowl, where you can dine on the freshest and most delicious cuisine.

Getting here and around

There are several airports across the state, making getting to where you want to be a breeze. Check out our flights to Sydney, flights to Newcastle, flights to Albury, flights to Ballina, flights to Tamworth, flights to Coffs Harbour, flights to Port Macquarie, and flights to Broken Hill.
