The staff is excellent - Rae, at the front desk could not have been more helpful and kind. My family and I were thrilled with the welcome we received, by Rae and Mike; and we were very pleased with the assistance they provided. And all staff were friendly, courteous, and professional! I intend to contact the manager to repeat this review directly. Also, great location.

We had a lovely stay, a few things would have made it a bit more special. Despite staying in a superior room we weren’t give towelling robes in order to use the pool facilities so please be aware you need to take something with you, slightly disappointing when paying over £500 a night. Please also be aware that no one really monitors the pool area, people were in there with mobile phones and alcohol and we used it towards the end of the day and it could have been cleaner. We also felt sorry for the staff who were on breakfast service on the Saturday as they struggled to keep up with replenishing food and clearing tables, they seemed a bit understaffed.

One of the front desk staff was rude during multiple interactions. And, the taxi company they called to take us to the airport charged me twice what it cost us to get to the hotel from the airport. I told the driver about his jacked up rates (plus he added 6 english pounds to be meter amount - I guess it was his built in tip). I hold the hotel responsible for doing business with such a company - I couldn't be the first person this has happened to...The property is several blocks from and at the bottom of the steep hill from the shopping district. I knew that when I booked but wouldn't stay there again because of the location, having experienced it firsthand. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was okay.

The room ac was pathetic and did not work , even at maximum speed there was hardly any air conditioning. We had to ask for a fan as it was stifling in the room . The hairdryer was of absolutely poor quality. It took me an hour to dry my hair where it takes me half an hour usually!

The room was very nice, updated. The bathroom was modern, spa-like with a great walk-in shower that had plenty of water power. The large television was also a plus. Location was a little bit of a walk uphill to the central area of the Royal Mile, but still in a good area. Overall, a very pleasant stay for us and would definitely go back again.

Used to stay here when it was a Mcdonald hotel. Not as good now am afraid. You've lost the Scottish theme altogether. Had to change rooms as first one was not ready correctly when we arrived. Still not ready when we returned at 5 00 so were given another room. Concierge when we found one was very hazy about services/buses etc. Spa doesn't look as good either so didn't book any treatments That wouldn't have happened previously. We won't stay again am afraid

Short trip to Edinburgh marriott

The trip was an impromptu trip away with my son and wanted a trusted Brand close to travel links abs with leisure and this did not disappoint. The whole place was new, fresh and clean. Food was good and staff friendly . They even had an Easter hunt for kids

Lovely comfortable hotel excellent staff pool and sauna and changing facilities were very clean. Very close to Arthur’s Seat. Away from hustle and bustle so peaceful but easy walking distance. Also close to station.
