Hotel and room were very clean. However the rooftop rooms, which are spacious with the tiniest bathroom, are located on level 19 are situated between the elevators and all you hear the whole time you are in the room is the elevator going up and down.

While the room is a little dated it was really well equipped with a full kitchen including dishwasher. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. This is my go to accomodation when I’m in Melbourne.

Oaks was a lovely place to stay. Everything for myself and my baby was in walking distance and the place was always tidy and clean. I especially loved that there was an IGA next door and an eatery on the ground floor.

Property is NOT family friendly. There is no direct lift access to reception from rooms elevators, you need to go through the food court to access an accessibility lift if you have a pram and or small children this quickly becomes cumbersome. I understand it’s the nature of inner city buildings but to advertise as family friendly is incredibly misleading. Further to this you cannot be family friendly if you have absolutely no surface area in the bathrooms. NONE. The sink is a powder room LEGO block sized sink and the entire room is a wet room so no where to place toiletries down and you best believe everything is getting soaked. The hotel has fallen into disrepair this much is obvious but what is also obvious is the standard that is accepted as being “clean”. I would never stay here again.
