The hotel room not so clean and the AC so loud not only my room. I found out every room in this hotel. The AC is so loud we asked for the service room to check the noise and they say sorry that’s for every room when you go to bed just turn it off so this is how the solve the problem. Anyhow, I don’t recommend this place. There is many hotels in the same area, maybe it’s better, but the area it’s good centre to walk to the parliament and other shopping

Don’t fall for the pictures
First, a great location. Downtown but off the main streets, so quiet. Near the canal and walkable to a lot of downtown Ottawa. Recently renovated, yes. But the work is quite badly done. Pictures look fine. Real life looks rougher. The nicest part of the place is the hallways on each floor. From there, downhill. One elevator out of service meant an agonizingly slow traverse from lobby to room. Staff were unsure when it would be fixed as it had already been out of service so long. We had a “luxury” one bedroom suite — ie a corner room. The entry foyer and living room were huge, just a bit rough around the edges — literally. Unfortunately the tiny bathroom and bedroom were hard to navigate. The bedroom offers no space to unpack clothes or even to open two suitcases. For a suite hotel, this is a big miss. Doors open into doors and the. The bed frame took us out at the shins more than once as we tried to navigate the space. The tiny bathroom has very little space to move and not a lot of room to put one’s toiletries. Again, in a suite hotel, a miss. Balcony was unusable — it was covered in filth and mildew. Windows also needed a deep clean and blinds needed replacing. Kitchen is minimally equipped and suffered the worst of the cheap renovation. Glassware and dishes were spartan and stuck to the cabinet paint. We were simply not comfortable so we left after one night. For the same price one can stay in much less depressing surroundings downtown.

A decent place, but for the $ it SHOULD be better
A really nicely appointed room. There is good & bad to this review though. We had a king suite, with a living room, kitchenette, bathroom and balcony. The beds were super cozy, and the bathroom was recently nicely renovated. The livingroom was spacious, and the kitchenette had everything you might need. Unfortunately the rooms need more attention to detail. There were no blankets for the beds (they DID eventually bring them!). The remote for the TV was broken (they DID replace it!). Other stuff? The balcony was grungy, with old metal chairs that no one would likely ever sit in. There were three burnt out lightbulbs in our suite (at this point I didn't even bother informing them any more). One of the elevators was out of service for our whole stay. Lonnnnng waits and 8-10 people squashed in the one working one every time. Parking costs SHOULD be better advertised, and/or included in the price, not appear as an 'optional' add-on. Who DOESN'T have a vehicle when visiting a city as a tourist? The location is awesome for downtown and easy walking to Parliament district, Sparks St, many pubs and restaurants, & Byward Market. A nice/safe place to stay. But as my title says, "For the money charged, it SHOULD be better than it is". If I could get a killer rate, I WOULD stay again despite the aesthetic & amenity issues.

Convenient location
Great location to walk to Parliament Hill the Rideau canal and Elgin Street for restaurants and bars. On site restaurant was nice. Service was good. Parking garage under the building was very convenient. Deacon Brodies was a fun Scottish bar.

Checked in around 11 PM, initially the room alotted to us had a broken bathroom door. After checking with reception, desk staff mentioned he can't do anything about it. After several requests he said to change the room and mentioned that they only have 1 more room, he doesn't know about the condition of the room and to check it yourself. He was extremely rude and didn't helped in anything with the room switching and even told me to leave the hotel if you have any problem. This whole discussion and switch took us 2 hours i.e. 1 AM at night. Moreover they didn't had any parking available (actually they never have, verified it next day also.) They gave some nearby options had to search the area in the middle of the night. Room was big, with a balcony, has kitchen, stove and even utensils. Next day after coming back from the visit, bith the key cards stopped working. It took me 30 mins at the reception (long queue with only 1 working desk) with family & kid waiting outside d room. They only have 2 elevators (no service elevator) & 1 of then was not working during our visit. 1 elevator for 11 floors made the whole hotel chaotic. During checkout we had to wait almost an hour for the elevator, all the guests were forced to even go up the floor with the elevator to get a place. On top of this the hotel staff in between occupied the whole elevator just to carry towels. Even after several complaints and requests the hotel manager didn't called me back or apologized in anyway.

Ok for a short stay
Room was spacious but lack some fundamental furniture, e.g. there is only one chest in the bedroom, no table for laptop and no chair. Room is clean on surface, but won't pass close inspection. There was a constant noise in my bedroom on my first night stay. It was a hot day, so maybe the AC was running all night long and hence the noise. I could even hear the noise in the hallway. My unit wasn't serviced during my stay. Not sure if they just missed it. Overall, I get what I paid for, and I do like the kitchen.

For the amount I paid to stay here I was dissapointed with the experience. The room was nice and the hotel was clean. But they didnt have parking for starters, the remote controller didn't work, the bathroom didnt have a proper lock on it, and the balcony was dirty. Not enough coffee or tea for four people staying in the room. Requested more towels and waited for a very long time. The hotel resturant is overpriced and you dont get what you pay. They also charged me an extra person fee when we had four people with two queen beds. Dont stay here unless you want to waste your money. Go elsewhere.
